  1. And he might prefer to go the Mookie Betts route.
  2. I think there were a few concerns expressed here about what Eovaldi said before the series, too. Quickly forgotten.
  3. The Yankees are surely due for a spending spree.
  4. If DD made 3 signings that bad, he'd be annihilated.
  5. And other organizations will also see he pitched better than his ERA this year, and they'll see what he looked like last 2 starts. Which means he can turn down the QO.
  6. Sure, let's completely bypass Ben's signings of Pablo, Hanley and Castillo. What's a totally wasted quarter billion here and there?
  7. If they sign Schwarber, he could play first next year, and transition to DH in 2023.
  8. Sorry Max, the QO is a fixed amount. It'll be about $19 mill.
  9. If E-Rod pitches well in whatever postseason innings he has left-not assuming anything-there's no way he accepts a QO. As sk7326 suggested, an Eovaldi-type deal seems realistic.
  10. Yes, I'm fine with that.
  11. He did have 2 walks and 2 runs last night.
  12. Personally, I have always been a staunch advocate for the number of pitchers Cora decides on.
  13. Ha, I called it. Good times.
  14. Schwarbs has hit two MASSIVE blasts into Fenway's right field seats this postseason.
  15. E-Rod vs. Stroman: Based on my new favorite stat-fWAR per 175 innings: Stroman 3.27 E-Rod 2.98 Stroman has pitched 9.5% better. E-Rod is about 23 months younger and has pitched about one season less in innings.
  16. Now that Schwarber appears to be settling in at first, the solution seems to be: -Sign Schwarber to play first. -Trade Dalbec.
  17. Porcello was all Ben. Like I say, the only clear dollar overpay DD made was Price.
  18. As of right now the closer is most likely Whitlock.
  19. Yes, and as much as I like Dalbec, if they could sign Schwarber, they could play him at first and trade Dalbec, and probably get something of value in return.
  20. No, they weren't. The only guy he clearly overpaid in dollar bills was Price. And we've agreed that was a necessary signing.
  21. Yes, it would be a damn shame if they don't. He's an instant fan favorite, so Henry would see some value in that too.
  22. This is one of the worst innings a pitcher has had in postseason history, guaranteed.
