  1. Yes, and it was reported that he had a *blinding* hangover in the Super Bowl but caught 2 TD passes anyway.
  2. Sale was not on the roster for the Wild Card game. He is on the roster for this ALDS series. Courtesy, Magoo Corrections R US. (Max was the Magoo in this case.)
  3. Let's just call it a dead heat between Vlad and Semien.
  4. And we've also seen plenty of examples of guys who were dealing one minute and not dealing the next. It's just the nature of the game. I think part of this is that Cora probably let Houck know before the game he was likely going to pitch one inning. Houck therefore is focused on getting 3 outs and goes all out trying to do so, with no thoughts of holding anything back to pitch a second inning. We can debate stuff like this all day (and we do), but the bottom line is that Cora is the guy who has to make the calls and live and die with them.
  5. Just regular old stupidity.
  6. Jeez man, try to relax for one night and enjoy beating the Yankees.
  7. It's human nature to overreact at certain times during a baseball season. I was moping for a while after the trade deadline when the Yankees were winning.
  8. Let's face it, we all have our moments of recoiling in horror when a manager yanks a guy who has been pitching well. But it does seem a little weird to be complaining about the manager after beating the Yankees 6-2.
  9. Personally I would say his career numbers are "mediocre". You must have seen him pitch in some Mets games, did you?
  10. He also said "hopefully he is gone after this year." So yeah, he has said he wants him fired.
  11. You have it backwards. It's FTWCora!
  12. You said "hopefully he is gone after this year". That's pretty close. He didn't panic last night, just the opposite. The easy thing would have been to leave Eovaldi in like the fans wanted. Cora has stones, is what he has. And Stanton hit a rocket off Eovaldi in the first. He's been red-hot for a while.
  13. There seems to be some mismanagement going on. A lot of Yankee fans think so. They point to a guy like Torres who looked like a star in the making and now looks like a mediocrity.
  14. Bloom had his reasons when he traded for Robles. Now we're seeing what they were. They must have seen something that could make him better.
  15. I know. Cora has a way of doing things that make us fans and armchair managers nutty, and they usually work out pretty well. He is a ballsy fellow.
  16. We shall see, we shall see. That's my final and definitive statement on the "Will Houck be a starter?" question.
  17. Cora said it had a lot to do with having thrown 40+ pitches on Sept 28 and being on 3 days rest.
  18. Hard to say about Houck IMO. That 5 inning perfect game last time out was pretty nifty.
  19. A-digging I must go.
  20. The word 'talent' is almost becoming irrelevant in baseball. The Yankees had lots of on-paper talent, but they did not perform. Performance is all that really matters.
  21. Robles has been pitching amazingly well for over a month now. Seems like they made some little tweak that made him better. That's the way baseball is now.
  22. He got a lot of mentions though.
  23. I also remember some people talking a lot about us trading Eovaldi.
  24. Which Main Street was that?
