In the final analysis, it wasn't our defense that let us down in the ALCS. If there was anything to blame, it was the offense getting shut down the last 3 games, and the bullpen blowing a couple of leads.

Yes, that's what I read too. So why not have him only do base calls? Seems simple enough. Having him do balls and strikes every 4th game is like having J. D. Martinez catch every 4th game. It would be incredibly stupid. Why do we let the umpiring be handled in an incredibly stupid way?

I used to be a little opposed to robo umps myself. I think Laz Diaz in Game 4 of the ALCS was the final clincher for me. So f***ing absurd to have a hack like that still impacting big games in 2021.
