  1. Strictly for clarification, the 8-1 line has only been up since we won the Wild Card game.
  2. Thanks, Slash. Cool factoid isn't it?
  3. How about 'Extra Virgin' olive oil LOL
  4. Yes, I believe "very seldom" is fine. Words that you shouldn't use "very" before would be words that have an "absolute" meaning like "perfect" or "unique".
  5. This is what happens when there are 3 off-days between games.
  6. I'd say it's more pertinent that he threw 73 pitches on Oct 7 and 67 pitches on Oct 10. That's an unusually high number of pitches on 2 days rest.
  7. How does that reconstruct? a) Fans who like Cora have never blamed him much for that. Fans who don't like Cora will still blame him just as much for that.
  8. Well, some of the biggest blown saves in postseason history were by Rivera (2001 and 2004) and Eck (1988 and 1992).
  9. Good comeback LOL
  10. Randomness exemplified. Or, to use a more old-schooly phrase, it ain't who you play, it's when you play 'em...
  11. Yes, a whole bunch...
  12. I wouldn't say Old Red is seriously bad mouthing him by calling him inconsistent. Maybe just undervaluing his performance as a starter.
  13. Houck as a starter in 2021: 3.68 ERA 1.13 WHIP 4.87 K/BB .627 OPSA All good.
  14. Shaw has contributed as well. Actually had some pretty big hits.
  15. Not really sure what the highlighted sentence means. They took him out of the regular rotation at the end of the season, when we had some off days to play with, to be a flex guy who can relieve or start if necessary. He started Game 161 and pitched 5 perfect innings. He might start a game in the ALCS, who knows.
  16. I didn't think that's what you meant, I just needed some clarification. You're right of course about the money being a big difference-maker in avoiding jail time. The only that's changed a bit is that if a famous athlete or other famous person is accused of something criminal or even non-criminal but offensive now, online media and social media will be all over it, and your career might instantly be over. As with Deshaun Watson, Trevor Bauer, Jon Gruden et al.
  17. Maybe you'd feel differently if you were a Braves fan rather than a Red Sox fan though.
  18. If you're claiming that NFL players murder people all the time and don't go to jail for it, you have to name some names. I can think of Ray Lewis as a possible candidate, but who else in recent times?
  19. In theory, a new tax system with a lower threshold that is less punitive and less of a deterrent to spending, but rakes in more tax money, would be better for just about everyone.
  20. Houck has been very inconsistent this year at best? Seriously? I don't know if his future is as a starter or as a bullpen weapon, but he's been a heck of a lot better than that.
  21. Excellent...excellent.
  22. What is, chasing the dollar?
  23. First in wins. Max Magoo'd.
  24. Whitlock is our best reliever, obviously, but you can't expect him to pitch the 8th and 9th innings every game we have a lead. Other guys need to do the job too.
