  1. You really don't have much faith in Bloom then.
  2. I don't have the answer. Maybe they shell out for Stroman, or maybe they swing a trade. What I know is that it's November 27.
  3. This guy is replacing Perez, not E-Rod.
  4. Depth signings, 1 year contracts, some upside indicators. It's not that complicated when one gives it a little thought.
  5. Yep. He's your 2022 Perez. Addition by subtraction followed by subtraction by addition? Oh well, at least there'll be no Sticky Stuff Surprises in 2022.
  6. Fair point Jax.
  7. Wacha finished strongly in the regular season. Last 8 games 3.20 ERA, .565 OPSa. In Bloom I trust.
  8. I'll guess 4.5 mill.
  9. Still no word on the dollars. Guesses? Hopefully not much more than 3-4 mill.
  10. Well, to be fair, some of his moves were greeted with more like indifference.
  11. A move that is sure to be more condemned than praised here!
  12. Hypothetical question for you and notin: if you knew Whitlock could deliver 150 quality innings next year as a starter, would you still keep him in the bullpen?
  13. If you compare #1 starters to #1 relievers the ratio has generally been 3 to 1.
  14. We're seeing changes in how pitchers are used, though. Starters throwing fewer innings and relievers more. So that triple innings thing is going down. Whitlock pitched 73.1 innings in 2021. Top 3 starters by IP Eovaldi 182.1 = 2.49 times as many E-Rod 157.2 = 2.15 Pivetta 155.0 = 2.11
  15. Yes, for quadruple the cost LOL Highest contract to starter Cole 324 mill Highest contact to reliever Chapman 86 mill
  16. I mostly agree, but man, starting pitchers with credentials are pricy.
  17. We also have to replace E-Rod. 4 ERA or no, lucky or no, he had a lot of wins for us the last few years.
  18. Somebody wake up Chaim.
  19. We sure are making calls early LOL
  20. I wouldn't bet on it.
  21. Good heavens. The only long-term contracts to starters so far are E-Rod and Matz.
  22. He's a Cardinal. 4/44 (after being projected for 3/27). Yeah, I think teams still have some money.
  23. And making aggressive offers that fall short of the highest bid.
  24. Good. He listened to his accountant after all. Smart man.
  25. Means wasn't the same after his no-no.
