  1. You're in the posse, Florida Man.
  2. I'm staying with the Sticky Stuff theory on Richards and Perez. Richards basically said his career was over when the crackdown came. It was refreshingly honest and disturbing at the same time.
  3. Sounds right.
  4. True. I'm not sure Bauer will ever play in MLB again, though. He was already a dubious character before this latest bizarre scandal.
  5. So maybe we trade Bogaerts for some guy who was very overpaid in 2021 but has upside, plus 2-3 prospects...
  6. Seager got $325 mill, what does Correa want? Some guys will get more than expected and some less. It was a little surprising Stroman got "only" $71 mill - not that it wasn't a tidy sum for 3 years, plus an opt-out.
  7. As you would say, you're as likely to be on the 2022 team as Bauer is.
  8. And let the usual attrition take care of the rest. Whitlock's innings would have to be limited no matter what they do.
  9. Yes, I think Talksox poster guessing success rates are going to be pretty low as long as Bloom's here.
  10. My guess is they give Whitlock a shot at being in the rotation from the get-go.
  11. I don't understand why it was cancelled.
  12. I suppose one could relate this to something like Kimmi's claims about Dombrowski's trade for Sale being "overkill". Too much expenditure to get better, law of diminishing returns and all that.
  13. Ha ha, yes, the posse is really something. I guess it's appropriate that you are one of the leaders, living in Texas as you do.
  14. Sure was. It was kind of amusing, actually. Or, some might say, sycophantic.
  15. Yes, I have to agree about spreading the risk. So far his misses have been easily survivable. Like Richards and Perez. Sure they were like crumbled dung after the sticky stuff crackdown. But it didn't hurt us that much on the field or in payroll commitments.
  16. Column by Peter Abraham in the Globe coincides with the following points from posters: 1) It was all about the prospects. Bloom seems really high on both. 2) Sold high on Renfroe (Bloom didn't say that, Abraham did). Abraham also mentioned Renfroe's defensive issues. 3) Bloom expects some offensive bounce-back from JBJ. So there you have it, folks. Maybe it looks FOS to some, but I can see the reasoning behind it.
  17. True, but the year before that JBJ was good and Renfroe sucked. It's luck of the draw with a lot of these guys.
  18. It's definitely a transaction you'd like to hear Bloom's reasoning on. Maybe we will.
  19. Personally I suspect it had a lot to do with Hunter's s***** defense.
  20. There is no "elite clique" here. We're all just a bunch of random Red Sox fans and we all think a little differently. I'm one of the most frequent posters, along with moon, notin and mvp78. I agree with them on some things and disagree on others. I don't think anyone tries to lord it over anyone here. I was on a board once called Sawxheads where the posters split up into two main groups, optimists and pessimists, and it got very ugly. This board is much better.
  21. Sorry, what did you want to know was true or not?
  22. There ain't no "self proclaimed posse". You must have an active fantasy life.
  23. I said what I said and it was clear. Not sure what you're missing.
