  1. I think Story just might do well at Fenway.
  2. So he's getting better. It happens. If you knew baseball, you'd know that.
  3. Fans are merciless.
  4. Sucks? He has a career ERA+ of 106 with the Red Sox. Shows how much you know about baseball.
  5. Right here. 5th inning. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BOS/BOS202204150.shtml
  6. OPS+ with Red Sox Ortiz 148 JD 140
  7. The fact is that JD has been raking since 2014, with the exception of one bad 60-game season. And you could look it up...
  8. If you could get JD back for something like 3 for $50 mill, I think that would work.
  9. Right now Bogey has an OPS of .860, and that equates to an OPS+ of 145.
  10. Plus he's only had more than 105 RBI once...
  11. And there are few who have expressed interest in re-signing him.
  12. Not telling you anything you don't already know, but that granny only counts for 4 ER if the pitcher who gave it up also loaded the bases...
  13. The funny thing is, if they do sign an extension with Bogey, you know what the reaction of a lot of Sox fans will be... "Nice, but what about Devers?"
  14. Probably. But I think he'd turn it down.
  15. And as I said in an earlier post, look at the gulf between what Seager got and what Correa got. Correa was pretty much left standing in the game of musical chairs. There are only so many $300 million offers out there.
  16. I'm pretty much with you, as my post #289 suggests.
  17. The recent extension offer to Bogey seems to have become accepted fact as much as the Lester Lowball...
  18. I hear you. The only explanation I can offer is that the time when you could keep your homegrown stars without committing to an exorbitantly large and long contract is past.
  19. Agreed. No idea if they will try to keep JD or not. They'll have plenty of money and we do kind of need hitters.
  20. Probably, but not guaranteed. Anybody can get injured.
  21. That's the common perception, but we lived through those last place finishes in 2012, 2014 and 2015.
  22. Whatever answer anyone gives would be a complete guess. My line has been Fire Fatse. It's mostly a joke. He was on the staff two years before this and he says they haven't really changed anything. But it does make you wonder when you see everyone except the Big 3 struggling.
