  1. Yes, it's best not to blame anyone. Idle speculation is rampant on this board!
  2. It was cheap if he was 100% healthy. And thereby hangs a tale.
  3. OK, but you can't really strike out 218 guys when you're actually injured. And I'm not going to say anything about the Sox medical staff, because MVP will say bad things to me.
  4. Because STORK already knows he's a bum. STORK is a few steps ahead of the rest of us...
  5. The metrics say his overall fielding has been slightly above average in 2022. He still makes some bad plays, like all slightly above average fielders do. But he's not a butcher.
  6. Those graphs are kind of freaky.
  7. Merely responding to Old Red's statement that they "extended an injured player"...
  8. Agreed. The acquiring team might also ask for one of those fancy negotiating windows that are sometimes allowed.
  9. In 2019, he somehow struck out 218 guys while injured... (Yes, I know very well there were justifiable injury concerns.)
  10. I guess STORK was blathering about Winckowski.
  11. It occurs to me that they might not be able to trade Bogey, because he actually still has 3 more years on his contract after this, if he doesn't exercise the opt-out. The only reason he wouldn't exercise it is injury. But that would put the team who acquires him in a risky position.
  12. Very disappointed in Dustin Johnson for taking the Saudi blood money.
  13. Of course he would. But: a) I think there's a very good chance they sign him to an extension, with all the money that's coming off the books. The current ownership has always shown some sense of trying to please the fans. They know a fire sale will piss off a lot of people. Including Devers in it would be torch and pitchfork stuff. If they're going to do that they might as well sell the team. And I don't think that's the plan.
  14. The only guy I'm sure won't be jettisoned is Devers.
  15. Yes, I am expecting a fire sale.
  16. The salary relief was mammoth. Couldn't have expected much from the talent dregs they threw in to call it a "trade".
  17. And AGon's OPS+ with the Dodgers was 119.
  18. None of us here care about those fans "out there", so you might as well give it up with that.
  19. I was talking about those 'other fans'.
  20. Anyone who has already decided that Whitlock is an average starter after a few MLB starts is kind of a bozo.
