    Honestly, we've spent too much time and effort on the JBJ trade. The Sale extension is costing us 25.6 AAV per year for nothing, by comparison.

    It's a fair question. My guess is that Devers is not 100%. If we were still in the hunt the decision might have been different.

    The funny thing is, I was the one who always tried to remind people about Rusney's money. I doubt that JH will let the Bradley buyout impact the team's budget for 2023.

    Disagree on 2. How many times have we said the tax number is the important one? We virtually forgot about Rusney's salary once he was removed from the tax rolls. But now you keep bringing up the $8 mill.

    The one positive thing is the damage was to 2022 only.

    The Yankees domination of the Twins over the last 20 years or so is one of the most remarkable statistical phenomena in sports during that period. Game 1 yesterday being a prime example of how the Twins will find a way to lose to the Yanks.

    I thought what he said made sense. The Red Sox were 3 games out of a playoff spot on August 1. They thought they had a healthy Sale coming back, and that they would have Paxton coming in September.

    Case in point - Jason Adam. Journeyman, signed as free agent for $900 K. Having unbelievable season. Has to be scouting and coaching.

    It's not because of his ability. It's because he takes the ball every 5 days and usually keeps you in the game. Like Porcello, and Wakefield before him. Guys like that have a value that goes beyond their stats.
