  1. The Cubs did the total tank thing. Regardless, it was a 5 year plan. DD also pretty much had a 5 year plan with the Tigers, based on the results.
  2. Pivetta is a solid #3/4 starter. Too bad our other guys couldn't take the ball the way he does.
  3. What would your solution be?
  4. Theo's 5 year plan with the Cubs seemed to work OK...
  5. Well, Denny, I see no harm in being optimistic, personally. It's not like anything we say has any impact on anything.
  6. What's painfully obvious is that you think on the level of a homophobic teenage boy.
  7. You and your homoerotic fantasies...
  8. I agree on the last part, and I think that's part of the reason firing Bloom now would be a bad move and a very bad look for Henry.
  9. Now you're responding to the wrong poster.
  10. Not if Abreu is primarily DH'ing.
  11. He didn't say anything about knowing. He said "I think" and "just my opinion". Terrible reading comprehension on your part.
  12. All I'm doing is registering my opinion that Bloom will be here through 2023 in spite of Shaughnessy calling for him to be fired.
  13. Everything is set up for Bloom to really make the 2023 team his team. There's a lot of pressure on him too.
  14. Jose Abreu might be on the radar as a DH/1B.
  15. "Deal with it", LOL. If Henry decides to fire Bloom, that's his call, but I'm pretty sure it won't have anything to do with Shaughnessy, who's been crapping on Bloom and the "Tampa Bay North" thing from the get-go. I've predicted that Bloom will be here through 2023 at least, and I'm not wavering from it. We'll see who's right. I'll own up to it if I'm wrong.
  16. Not bad. Reasonable.
  17. What's so hypocritical about that is that Shaughnessy will absolutely crucify players who don't come through in the clutch. He called Adrian Gonzalez The Cooler. And then you have guys like Schilling and Papi who came through for the Red Sox like few have. And these are the guys he gets in feuds with? So they have to be clutch and perfect human beings too?
  18. Shaughnessy is a talented writer, but he also has a lot of unsavory traits. I can't help thinking of what I read about this "Colonel" guy of olden times who had a personal vendetta against Ted Williams. Ted called guys like that Knights of the Keyboard, and I think that probably fits Shaughnessy at times. He had a vendetta against Schilling and now he has one against Papi.
  19. I agree. I think mvp summed up Swihart's Ghost perfectly. He might be ill, but he doesn't have ill intent.
  20. It does take a special something to go on another team's message board and constantly razz them.
  21. He's had fights with others as well. On most boards he'd be long gone and hard to find.
  22. Well played LOL
  23. The really funny part is, Bello is just the opener, and will be followed be McGuire...
  24. Not to mention Jason Heyward with the Cubs. Every HOBO has moves that don't work. Theo was very open about it. I think he once said if you hit on more than half of your free agent signings you're doing well.
  25. Um, again, why do you keep attacking him? If you stop, I'll stop. Simple solution. All up to you.
