You're way over-reaching with some of this stuff. Lux tax? We've got a pile of money coming off the books. The only big money contract Bloom has added is Story. Duran? He was a 7th round draft pick by DD. It's not all that surprising he hasn't worked out. Downs? Just another over-hyped prospect. Unhappy Bogey and Devers? Henry is the guy who has the final word on extension offers of this magnitude.

The one story about Lucchino that kind of made me wish I was there was when he, Henry and Theo flew to meet with Teixeira and Boras, thinking they were about to close a deal. When they got there they found out the Yankees had already pretty much sewed Teixeira up. I think there were reports of Lucchino coming close to getting physical with Boras...

That's true from a "right this minute" standpoint. The full commitments were: JDM 110 million - with a series of opt-outs Bogey 120 million - with a vesting option for another 20 million, and an opt-out after Year 3 Story 140 million
