  1. The contract incentives all relate to options for next year. When you look into it it only made sense.
  2. Although Refsnyder has done enough to warrant bringing him back, because he's also very cheap.
  3. But now that the team is virtually eliminated is the time to give a guy like Cordero another look-maybe his last look.
  4. Yes, the Pats are a good example of how hard it is to keep fans happy.
  5. Short little memories for sure.
  6. OK Mr. Downer. 4 homers in 6 games is still 4 homers in 6 games.
  7. My vote was just OK. I'm fine with that.
  8. It's hard to look good in the dugout when your team is sucking.
  9. Why? Everyone seems to agree Bloom is responsible for the 2022 mess.
  10. Cordero has 4 homers in his last 6 games. Not sure I'd give up on him just yet. Let him play the rest of the year and decide then.
  11. Cot's Contracts sucks now, BTW. They don't even show Bradley on the Sox payroll costs any more, just moved him to the Jays. They must have had some layoffs.
  12. Correction, Bradley is a 12 million hit for tax purposes and an actual outlay of 17.5 million - 9.5 + 8 buyout.
  13. Chaim Bloom, American Picker - I kind of like that one.
  14. Gee thanks for that second sentence...
  15. How is a Barnes DFA in the conversation?
  16. Cora is fine. He was successful in 2018 and 2021.
  17. Like you, I'd roll the dice. But I suffer from optimism LOL
  18. They thought it might be a lat strain at first, but it's a tear.
  19. Behind-the-dumpster diving? Dumpster overflow diving?
  20. We may be losing Bogaerts, but you're a little off base about his 2022 season. He has a 4.6 fWAR. His defensive rating is vastly improved over the last few seasons.
  21. And I try to talk you up as a nice Yankee fan.
  22. Whitlock pitched 2 innings on Aug 12, and got a 9th inning, 1 inning save on Aug 14. He pitched 2 innings on Aug 24, and got a 9th inning, 1 inning save on Aug 26.
  23. The most likely scenario is .500. They're still trying, at least.
  24. Yes, and that's why our pen was so good this year!
  25. Don't tell 700hitter I said this, but Pivetta's ERA with the Red Sox is about 4.35 after today. Before today he had an ERA+ of 103 with the Sox, a little better than average when adjusted for the ballpark. He's mediocre. He has a bunch of good games, and a bunch of games like today. To me he's kind of like Wakefield was in his latter years with the Sox. Wakefield ate innings, at a reasonable price.
