Considering that we're still way under the threshold this year, it appears that this year's share of the $5 mill went toward some upgrades on JH's yacht.

To me, McGuire is an adequate backup catcher who has to keep a suitcase packed. I'm still not convinced of his defensive value. He's an average hitter-for a catcher.

Man, you really liked that Diekman trade. Sometimes I get the feeling you'd put it right up there with the Pedro trade.

Duran did homer off a lefty yesterday. Cora is handling it all perfectly as usual.

Total straw man argument, moon. Last year Average Sox Fan was pissed because: a) They traded Vazquez. Their "big acquisitions" were Hosmer and Pham. c) They finished 6 games under .500 and in last place for the 5th time in 11 years. All of which is consistent with the idea that they'll be pissed again if they have a shot at the playoffs and trade Paxton.

Cora did pretty well in 2021 too, when they knocked out the Yankees and heavily favored Rays, and were 2 wins from the World Series.

I refuse to believe the Sox will trade Paxton if they're still in the hunt. Fans are pissed off enough as it is.

I've always been a Cora supporter. It's Bloom I've gone back and forth on.

So let me get this straight - even if the Sox are a game out of a playoff spot or better at the deadline, you would trade Paxton? I'm surprised, because you were one of the ones opposed to a fire sale last year.

We've won 6 of 7, and 5 of those were against good teams. We've scored 17 runs the last 2 games. I don't get the bellyaching about Cora's lineup management right now.

And if the team stays on a good run like the one they're on now? Still trade Paxton? I say no. Everything depends on what happens in the next 3 weeks.

Yes, he's a troll but he's so stupid that he provides some amusement. When he started posting more recently, I did have to put him on ignore just to cut down on the nonsense entering my cranium. -
I have been so impressed watching Turner lately. The term professional hitter gets overused, but I think he really is one. I think he's just as happy fisting one into right for a bloop single as hitting one out. Take what the pitcher gives ya. I think he's actually underrated looking at his numbers with the Dodgers. An OPS+ of 133 is serious.
