Personally I think the Dalbec promotion makes some sense. Why not give him one more shot or maybe increase his trade value a bit. Not much to lose. I assume Casa will still get the majority of starts as long as his signs remain positive.
Quite the reductive question. My money would actually be on #1 based on the season so far. When we score 6 runs we usually win. But all 3 answers are in play for sure.
Losing Houck is going to be costly, I fear. Losing Sale was not unexpected. But any losses of starters after Sale were going to be tough to compensate for. Bloom may need to make a move soon.
He only threw 9 pitches in the 9th, but if he struggles more in the 10th he might end up at 30 pitches. Still no guarantee you win, and Jansen is burned for the next 2 games likely.

Dalbec might be able to hit MLB pitching given another chance, but at the moment the Red Sox just don't have room to give him that chance.
Hopefully he does get another shot somewhere at some point.
