    Baseball-Reference graded him a 2.9 WAR with their formula. Split the difference and you get 2.35. For a salary of $500K, that's a great value.

    Right, Lester is a year older so he should be willing to take an extension that's a year shorter. That's perfectly logical isn't it?

    2003 was the year for the Red Sox and the Cubs to meet, with one of them guaranteed to break the drought. They were each 5 outs away from the World Series. Who would have thought that 10 years later, we'd have won 3 more times and they'd be 0 for the last 105 years. I am so thankful for the last 10 years.

    In 14 innings with Atlanta he gave up 19 hits and 8 walks. I'm guessing he let some inherited runners score too. That plus his age must have knocked his price down.
