  1. Sure, he's a complete sleazeball. But he probably knows more about what's going on with PED's in MLB right now than just about anybody. I know they won't hire him, but he might be a useful consultant at least. Many, many crimes would never have been solved without help from the sleazeballs.
  2. MLB should hire Bosch to help catch the cheats.
  3. Why the bigger penalty? Well, it's been covered here at length, but one more time then - the additional charges against A-Rod are that he: 1) enticed other players to use PED's. 2) obstructed MLB's investigation. Obviously the evidence of A-Rod's transgressions was strong enough for the arbitrator. The early expert opinions we've seen indicate that A-Rod's court appeal is extremely unlikely to succeed. Yes, MLB appears to have played dirty a bit, but that's a molehill next to the mountain of A-Rod's wrongdoing. All he's doing now is following in the ignoble steps of Lance Armstrong. It ultimately failed for Lance and it's going to fail for A-Rod just the same. He's done.
  4. Also, not to pile on, but who is playing second base and third base for the Yanks next year?
  5. I don't see the Yankees staying under the cap. They need at least one more starting pitcher, whether it's Tanaka or one of the leftovers. Right now their rotation is Sabathia, Kuroda, Nova and ???
  6. He's still talkin' the talk though. The guy is too much. There's going to be an interview with Bosch on TV tomorrow night...I heard a clip from it in which he lists 4-5 substances A-Rod was using.
  7. I think so. We made a total investment of 103 million in Dice-K. If someone signs Tanaka for 87.5 million, plus the 20 million fee, that's 'only' 107.5 million. With all the money flying around now, with the lack of premium free agent pitchers, and with the Yankees and Dodgers both with hard-ons, this should get crazy.
  8. With the way things are shaping up, he should be looking well north of that, I'd say.
  9. LOL I'd love to see the Yankees go toe-to-toe with them.
  10. There are also a lot of rummies here, believe me. Canadians will drink just about anything, in fact.
  11. Or, what pathetic little internet junkies with unmeasurably tiny spans of attention we are.
  12. The Tanaka thing is a drawn-out drama indeed. But the other pitchers that are left-Garza, Santana etc.-are nothing to get excited about.
  13. More on the previous murder coming out now. A drive-by double homicide in 2012. Willing to bet this is why Lloyd got killed.
  14. Well, even if he's halfway between (healthy) Dice-K and Darvish.
  15. Not even if he's as good as Darvish, huh? Interesting insight.
  16. Daniel Bard was in here asking the same question.
  17. Jerry Sands is available.
  18. Or at least good jokes.
  19. It makes very little sense to lump Stephen together with J. D. J. D. I'm not arguing about. But Stephen has made $30 million in his career, total.
  20. The Yankees would be screwed the most by A-Rod being screwed the least.
  21. I think the 2008 ALCS is one of those things you can get sucked into overanalyzing. It was a very strange series. We blew Game 2, with Tito making the worst decision of his tenure with the team. The Rays smoked us at Fenway and should have closed us in 5, but they somehow threw away Game 5, with Maddon equalizing Tito's Game 2 f***up with a few of his own. Game 7 was kind of a nothing game. Garza outpitching Lester was the deciding factor. I know many people will disagree but to me the 2008 ALCS was just us winning 3 games and them winning 4.
  22. Sounds like the arbitrator's ruling is coming next week.
  23. Is Fred bringing up Sean Casey again? Good Lord. Casey hit .188/.235/.188 as a pinch hitter in 2008. Casey hit .206 in September of 2008.
  24. You're right...SoxSport loads so much nonsense into some of his posts that he makes it an overwhelming task to even respond.
  25. OK for folks who are really interested in this type of thing, I thought you might get a kick out of this story. I watch the Golf Channel a lot and so it was pretty hard for me to overlook this story. It's well documented on the web...this is just one typical version of it. Holly Sonders is hot. I know it, you know it, and the golfing world knows it. Golf Digest knows it, and decided to put her on the cover and in the pages of its fitness issue next month with an in depth feature on golf yoga, and other methods to get in the best shape possible for the upcoming golf season. Holly Sonders' boyfriend Erik Kuselias knows it, and wasn't afraid to talk about it (constantly) on the set of their Golf Channel show, The Morning Drive. While that would be all well and good, it probably wasn't all well and good for his wife at the time. Kuselias and his wife have since split up, after she hired a private investigator to get more dirt on Kuselias' bad habits at work (reports circulating that he was involved with another co-worker (besides Sonders) when his wife called things off). After publicly meeting and flirting, Sonders and Kuselias advanced things, and news came out in May of 2012 that Holly Sonders is going to marry Erik Kuselias. Seriously. The 26 year old smokeshow is going to marry a man in his mid forties, who is divorced amidst a flurry of rumors over infidelity. The woman who is demonstrating golf yoga poses in hardly anything for the entire world of affluent men who think they can swing the sticks and could choose from almost any of us,... has chosen Erik Kuselias. In fairness, we'll give Kuselias credit that he's got a cool resume. A Mensa member, Kuselias has handled a number of TV and radio gigs across different specialties and done it pretty well. After being removed from Morning Drive after his engagement to Sonders was announced, Kuselias has been part of a few different shows (and I'm personally a fan of Fantasy Football Now). Kuselias also played high school baseball in Connecticut with Mo Vaughn, Jeff Bagwell and Brad Ausmus. As for Sonders, she continues to host the Morning Drive even after Kuselias' removal. A graduate of Michigan State, Sonders was a member of the 2007 National Champion squad, Sonders has also been a regular on School of Golf on the Golf Channel.
