  1. Warriors are one of those teams that can beat you in a lot of ways. They didn't go 73-9 for nothing.
  2. I understand your point of view.
  3. Personally I get a good feeling when they overturn a bad call. As sick as it might sound, I even appreciated it the other night when the Yankees had a call at first base overturned in their favor. Because the replay clearly showed the Jays runner was out.
  4. The luck factor is significant, obviously. But that doesn't really address what Palodios is saying.
  5. Hanley, do something tonight for our boy Station 13 would ya?
  6. 1. Holt replacing Pedroia would cost the team 2-3 wins. That hurts. 2. Holt is the one who is injured. And he's never played more than 129 games and people are always pointing out how his offense falls off a cliff when he plays too much. Holding him up as a solid replacement for Pedroia is bordering on the absurd.
  7. I don't think it was defensive miscues that resulted in the 9th inning runs by the Royals. The tying run in Game 1 was a home run. Anyway it's all just an academic debate.
  8. Agree 100%. You'd have to take that 14-15% error rate and parse it further to see the rate of truly egregious bad calls.
  9. Numbers don't lie.
  10. As sk7326 has stated so well on this thread, they can't get better because it's an impossible task to call balls and strikes accurately.
  11. Nope. But he was a pillar of justice for one night.
  12. I'll definitely take a pass on that. And if he started doing it when I was buying him drinks, I'd buy him a bottle and leave.
  13. You can't really say money isn't an issue. If that were the case they would have signed another starting pitcher this offseason. Those bad contracts do affect what the team can do.
  14. The time is certainly now to try to turn Kelly into a reliever. He's that or nothing.
  15. The ironic thing about the much-maligned Joe West is that, from a Sox perspective, he turned in one of the greatest single-game umpiring jobs in history-or at least he was head of the crew that did. If I ever met the man I'd buy him drinks all night.
  16. The fact is they blew 2 9th inning leads. If they had won those 2 games they would have led the series 3-2. So it was really a very close series that turned on a couple of innings. That's baseball for ya.
  17. The good news is they have a day off next Monday so they could skip this spot in the rotation if they want.
  18. He really missed the high target Hanigan gave him on that pitch.
  19. You're not the first to say that. Kind of a dead ringer, really.
  20. I would agree with you if Owens was putting up good numbers for the PawSox, but he isn't. Since going back there he's had 5 starts. 26.1 IP 25 hits 20 walks 17 earned runs
  21. Joe Kelly 22.1 IP 31 hits 19 walks 2 HBP 21 earned runs ...and a no-hit bid mixed in there.
  22. Might is the operative word, since he only lasted 12.1 innings in his 3 major league starts. We have no depth.
  23. Kelly is going to put Buch right back in the rotation. Bastards.
  24. Such a traditionalist.
