I was watching a Yankees game the other night and I saw that Phil Coke was back with them. I went on Baseball-Ref to see how he got there and I found this in his Transactions history:
• October 30, 2014: Granted Free Agency.
• March 5, 2015: Signed as a Free Agent with the Chicago Cubs.
• May 26, 2015: Released by the Chicago Cubs.
• May 31, 2015: Signed as a Free Agent with the Toronto Blue Jays.
• June 22, 2015: Granted Free Agency.
• June 27, 2015: Signed as a Free Agent with the Oakland Athletics.
• August 19, 2015: Released by the Oakland Athletics.
• March 9, 2016: Signed as a Free Agent with the Atlanta Braves.
• March 26, 2016: Released by the Atlanta Braves.
• April 25, 2016: Signed as a Free Agent with the New York Yankees.
Holy crap, talk about making the rounds, 5 teams in a year. It shows you what some guys go through to try to stay in the big leagues.
