    The question that looms on Encarnacion is whether the Yankees will be in on him. Why wouldn't they be? No more A-Rod, Tex off the books...I think they'll be in spending mode again.

    That's one way to look at it, although in theory the relievers we called up aren't as good as the ones we already had. In August everyone was calling our bullpen garbage. In September they're great. Gotta love this game. Poster sk7326 said that when we got Koji back things would look up...he was prescient on that one.

    Hanley had a .717 OPS last year. On June 22 of this year his OPS was at that same .717 mark. Since then his OPS is 1.053. What a game this is.

    I think we're pretty fortunate to have won 2 games in this series that we trailed by 4 runs and 3 runs. Anyway, we'll see.

    I'm thinking more recently, like 2011. Not that I'm worried about us collapsing, but we've seen a lot of crazy stuff happen.

    Generalization does create a lot of confusion. If someone has a beef about a specific post, they should respond directly to that post - like you did with Slasher's post.

    The Yankees are almost done but I'll wait till it's official. They're 4 back in the WC with 14 left. If they beat us tonight and then sweep the Rays things will look much different. Weirder things have happened.

    No offense, southpaw, but nobody's really directing their posts just at you.

    They can't go to sleep when starting pitchers only average 6 innings. Managing the bullpen is a huge part of the job.

    Most of the really heated criticism that managers take comes from their in-game pitching changes or non-changes, IMO.

    I could be wrong, but Farrell seems to be doing a pretty good job lately-bullpen management included.
