  1. Yankees are not dead yet.
  2. I hear ya...in Willis's defense, I think this wasn't so much a 'fixing the mechanics' thing as it was a 'what have you got to lose by trying something different' thing when Clay looked just about done.
  3. He really does look like a kid.
  4. What happened in your life?
  5. That home run last night was a beautiful thing.
  6. @peteabe Buchholz mentioned that it was Chili Davis who suggested he pitch exclusively from the stretch. He thought his ball “got on” hitters faster.
  7. Pedey is back!
  8. Personally I have faith in Henry and Dombrowski. Henry has shown he's willing to spend big for a winner, and DD has made some good moves. I see no reason to worry much about any of it...
  9. Leon's inevitable plummet with the stick is well underway, I fear (2 for his last 24).
  10. If they do decide to get a bat, there has to be a Plan B to Encarnacion. Because if there are a few other teams interested in him, things could really get stupid.
  11. Fair enough. I guess I'm just not used to the Yankees doing such things. George must be rolling over.
  12. Sox fans really hated the Rays for a while there too...
  13. But I'm not talking about this year. I'm talking about the fact he's under contract for 2017 and 2018.
  14. The new young lefty is Robby Scott. I'm afraid we won't see Wright again until 2017. I think the 3/4 slots in the playoff rotation would be E-Rod and Buchholz, or vice versa, depending on who looks the best at decision time, with Pomeranz to the pen.
  15. Well, I have to own this Nostra-Dumbass prediction. I wasn't expecting such a miraculous turnaround by the bullpen.
  16. I question whether it was the right move for the Yanks to trade Andrew Miller when he is signed through 2018 and is pitching like a machine (a .70 WHIP and a 12.67 K/BB this year).
  17. An Atlantic great white shark first spotted off the coast of Cape Cod has been named Big Papi by the marine biology guys. I'm not even kidding.
  18. Well, not veterans whose only advice is to 'keep your booty loose'.
  19. And how did Baltimore make out after that advice?
  20. Yes, let's give it a shot.
  21. That is a sinister observation.
  22. I thought you liked WAR now, after your post about Yaz's 1967 WAR.
  23. This pitching matchup has trouble written all over it. Need some reverse lock magic.
  24. I don't really disagree. But when you make questionable moves like in Thursday's game, the binder becomes an object of derision. Just human nature really.
  25. Everybody knows that, but the advanced metrics actually try to calculate the number of runs these two save, which is sort of cool IMO... It's like everybody knows Papi is a great hitter but it's nice to know his actual HR's & RBI's etc....
