  1. It was absolutely the right move IMO. Barnes was much more likely to give up a game-tying HR to Gregorius.
  2. Even Tuesday's results are not horrible in the context of facing one of the best offenses.
  3. Some folks will shudder (or puke) to hear it, but our next big trade might involve giving up major-league talent like JBJ or Vazquez.
  4. I do see some positive trending though, thanks to some B-R cherry-picking. What I really like is that in his last 3 starts, over 18 innings, he has 26 K's and only 3 BB's.
  5. First step is to consider what big bats might be available and what their contract status is.
  6. Good point, although you got the days mixed up - are you retired by any chance?
  7. Personally it amazes me how much umps are influenced by pitch framing. Sometimes you'll see a pitch that's a good 3 inches off the plate pulled in by the catcher and called a strike.
  8. Exactly what Jasonbay44 said. A lefthanded hitter with some power + short right field porch.
  9. All I can say is...what?
  10. But when you combine it with Kimbrel's vastly better overall numbers there's a lot saying to bring him in.
  11. Pomeranz's pitch count and final line weren't great, but you have to keep in mind the Yankees are averaging close to 6 runs a game at home.
  12. Exactly right.
  13. I don't think 'trust' is the right word. Barnes gives up a lot more baserunners and runs on average than Kimbrel, it's as simple as that.
  14. Reasoning?
  15. I'm guessing Young starts over JBJ.
  16. Hard to say. He'll either be unavailable tonight or tomorrow night.
  17. Yes, exactly. Those $25-30 million annual salaries add up in quite a hurry.
  18. They can't afford to pay all the B's, IMHO. They can do it but it will put them in tax hell.
  19. Christ yes, with that heat and those hard-breaking sliders.
  20. I was just 'busting balls' there, as they say...
  21. Smite the evil bastards with righteous vengeance, please.
  22. The way Kimbrel is pitching these days he's overmatching just about everybody.
  23. Used in a sentence: The first time I read harmony's post, it aggravated me. I read it again later, and it re-aggravated me.
  24. 'Random' isn't a strong enough word if you ask me. It's more like inexplicable chaos that you're better off not even trying to figure out.
