Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there are any franchises in baseball that can claim to have had a lot of great all-around catchers. It's a very tough position that wears down the body rapidly.

Kimmi's the closest thing we have to a normal person on this board. But when you have 12,700+ posts since Jan 2015 on a baseball message board full of nutjobs, I'm afraid that falls a little shy of 100% normal.

There's been talk about Machado getting a deal in the same range as Bryce Harper. But his OPS+ this year was an unimpressive 107. Wouldn't be surprising to see him have a big walk year, though.

The surgeries thing was wacky but whatever it was about, he had nothing to gain by it and it's ultimately irrelevant. Back before the internet we would never even know about something so trivial.

I agree. The 'no surgeries that I know of' comment did made him look a little silly when there was a slew of them right after he said it.

Matsui was a very good hitter, I think that's the most accurate statement. With a .933 postseason OPS and World Series MVP, you might even be able to make an argument for him being clutch.

You are a joker Larry. This Ohtani kid is a totally different dude. It was the Yankees that really had their heart set on him and he said no thanks. I'm sure we had even less chance than they did.

Ohtani has until December 22 to decide. That's still 17 days away. Plus, he's not a big financial investment for whichever team scores him.
