  1. I was surprised to say the least that Dave didn't let Kershaw pitch the 8th...the best in the game and you're pulling him at 83 pitches for Brandon Morrow? It takes some balls to do that. The studio commentators on Sportsnet, Gregg Zaun and Justin Morneau, were equally surprised. I'm sort of hoping for the Stros but I do like Dave and I'll be very happy for him if they win.
  2. Trading Shaw for Thornburg was a bad move alright, but hardly a fireable offense.
  3. A lot of buzz that Girardi won't be back. The Yanks have an interesting way of doing business - the contracts of both Girardi and Cashman expire October 31 and there's no official word yet on either of them. Cashman will be back obviously. He has been one of the best in the business recently. What's a little odd is that if in fact the Yanks don't plan on bringing Girardi back they're watching the pool of managerial candidates shrink. Maybe they already have their guy.
  4. My main hope for Bogey is that his weak finish was largely a result of the hand injury and that he'll be 100% in 2018.
  5. Sounds good, but why will Robertson & Gardner be gone?
  6. If Votto really cared about winning he would want to leave Cincy, a lot. Their best season in the last 3 is 68-94! Maybe he's more comfortable with losing than you realize.
  7. 'Rebound the moribund' - that's our rallying cry for 2018 LOL
  8. We've become a little spoiled, I think. It's still a great time to be a Red Sox fan, and that's been true since 2003. The John Henry era continues to pile up accomplishments.
  9. Show him the money!
  10. Holy crap, wouldn't that be a coup.
  11. Of course you're not getting anything for Pedroia right now. He's 34 and he's contemplating knee surgery. Doesn't mean it's been a bad contract.
  12. I was playing the 'shouldn't have traded Miller' card myself a few times this year, but in the end I think that would be wrong. However, I think all the early hooks for Yankee starters finally caught up to the Yankee pen the last 2 games.
  13. The Yankees scored 3 runs in the 4 games in Houston. They scored 19 runs in the 3 games in NY. It's a crazy game.
  14. With Stanton, the money is doable for the Sox. It all depends how much talent the Marlins want in return.
  15. The thread started by examiner was mainly for the purpose of moaning and groaning about the Sox.
  16. Yeah the Dodgers have strength at the top now with Friedman, and Dave Roberts too I think.
  17. I'll take the Astros, and Altuve for Series MVP. He is playing and leading like a man possessed.
  18. Ben messed up some stuff pretty good too. He was no Theo either, that's all I'm really saying.
  19. Shoulda traded him after 2014 when his value was at its highest! (I'm just messing around with this nonsense.)
  20. But is it straight flamethrowers who have the most injuries or pitchers who throw the most hard breaking pitches?
  21. You're right, it is a beautiful day. And we're still out-titling the Yanks 3-1 in the John Henry era!
  22. Theo's at least.
  23. Freaking crazy game isn't it.
  24. LOL good one.
