  1. It's just the concern that Mookie stands a much bigger chance of getting injured at second, especially since he hasn't played there for a while.
  2. I think he might be right. If you go back to 2003 when Theo took over, this has pretty much been the case. What valuable 'worker bees' has the farm system produced since then, that we have kept?
  3. And maybe Cash should be called King Nero - basically fiddling while Rome burns at the deadline this year?
  4. You're going down in flames on this one, Dojji. And it's not about whether Mookie can play second adequately or not. The guy can do just about everything on a baseball field well.
  5. Can we blame them for Kinsler's hammy too, even though he just got here?
  6. You're right, they are almost the same player over their careers.
  7. He usually seems to hit against us though.
  8. Somewhat fortunately for us the Yankees have injury issues of their own with Judge, Sanchez and Happ missing the series.
  9. Butler has been called up.
  10. I'm betting against it. Look at the small increases in the tax thresholds in the last 2 CBA's, and look at what happened this past offseason. I think the baseball gravy train is finally hitting the brakes a bit.
  11. $40 million is a backbreaker. I don't think we'll see anyone make $40 million. Maybe $35 million though.
  12. A very very good argument for that, I would say.
  13. FWIW Mookie said he's going to be watching what happens this offseason with Machado and Harper with a lot of interest.
  14. Uh uh. If Theo does it, it has to be done.
  15. But Mookie Betts is an extremely rare talent. How many players put up about 30 WAR in their first 4 seasons?
  16. It's a fact that the 2 bullpens are very close statistically. Britton might change that a bit, we'll see. But Green and Holder have been struggling, Warren is gone, Kahnle is injured, and DRob is not what he once was.
  17. ??? June: Vazquez 16 starts Leon 11 starts
  18. The economic landscape is changing a bit too. It looks like the cheap young talent ain't gonna stay cheap quite as long, when you see Mookie making $10.5 million in his 4th year and 2 more arb years to go with substantial raises.
  19. If Pomeranz pitches well his next time out and Johnson doesn't, 'the narrative will change' LOL
  20. Oh yeah, he should have avoided J D Martinez like the plague.
  21. And Kinsler might be right behind.
  22. They also traded Adam Warren - to the Mariners no less. Some Yankee fans are really shaking their heads over that one.
  23. sk and Kimmi arguing team building philosophy: a battle royale for the ages.
  24. So how much would you pay a player who is worth $12 million per FanGraphs?
  25. Pomeranz may be working his way back to health. It's been known to happen.
