  1. The Red Sox did have a significant health issue as well. Our ace starter Chris Sale, who pitched little the last 2 months of the season and was clearly far from 100% in his postseason appearances.
  2. And Johnson and Velazquez were pretty solid contributors in 2018.
  3. I would rather keep sending them out there for their starts, assuming they're healthy, and try to figure out what the issues are. At this point the results don't matter that much.
  4. Yeah, but I think all of us were feeling much better about the team after we pummelled the Yankees in those 3 games. And I don't think any of us foresaw them turning right around and dropping 8 straight.
  5. And Weber had a good start against the Jays this year. But he got smoked in his next start. I think he's one of those guys who can look good when he's 100% on. But you can say that about a lot of pitchers.
  6. No, Springer played the whole series and hit 381/485/667. Seems pretty healthy to me.
  7. That Houston team we beat last year had just demolished a very good Guardians team in 3 straight, outscoring them 21-6.
  8. Pitching generally wins in the playoffs.
  9. That Astros team was far from 'crippled', jung.
  10. The players shouldn't have needed any motivating. The Yankees did jacksquat at the deadline and look how the team responded.
  11. People were saying that to us last year, too.
  12. But you know you can't do that.
  13. Yeah, the team played a nasty little joke on the front office.
  14. Let's not be comparing Price to Crawford. Crawford was a complete washout after he got paid. Price at least is on the cover of the 2018 World Series DVD set.
  15. Some would actually say they succeeded. Lester got a ring with the Cubs, we got a ring with Price et al. Now we're f**ked, admittedly.
  16. What happened to our great pitching guru Brian Bannister???
  17. Yes, I think it's time for the team to start getting creative. Nothing to lose, that's for sure.
  18. We're just trying to make you feel better, Hitch.
  19. Price's contract would only be a little more than half over. He's still due more than 100 million. And other teams are probably feeling a little pessimistic about how well he'll age too.
  20. I like the move for Houston. It's aggressive as hell. We'll see how it pays off.
  21. I don't think it was that big of an opportunity. We weren't going to re-tool with what we got for broken goods like Porcello and Moreland. Trading Price would have been a salary dump which would have mostly resulted in us paying half his salary to play elsewhere.
  22. Good. We've seen enough of him!
  23. That's quite a stat. Now if RBI is a team-based stat, so is LOBsters.
  24. They also got $24 million against Greinke's remaining salaries.
  25. When exactly did they say that though? Chris ended 2018 as a question mark in the health department.
