  1. I'd hate the trade if it wasn't Dombrowski doing it to be honest. But again, dude has made making trades like this with his team being the clear winner in the end an art form.
  2. Max, why can't you just stick to the actual point that's being presented? The point isn't that he's supposed to magically turn marginal talent into All-Stars, but a good pitching coach turns good but flawed talent into great talent, as the Cardinals/Pirates are so adept at doing. I'll give any pitching coach a mulligan on Buchholz, but anyone and everyone knew Kelly was a reliever, and a lot of other guys keep underperforming their talent/peripherals on this team. Some of that has to go towards the pitching coach.
  3. One thing to note: Dave Dombrowski is usually right when he makes these types of trades both with who he deals away, and who he acquires.
  4. No, just you, for being the second most annoying of pricks, closely following a certain Yankees troll. Seriously, you can bring some pretty interesting insight, but give the unwarranted sense of self-importance/dry wit attempts a f***ing rest. Goddamn.
  5. Oh.My.God Thunder.
  6. That's a long-ass post that doesn't do anything to disprove the fact that the Jets are firmly on the fence between mediocre and f***ing terrible. The fact that you came to a forum full of Pats fans to demonstrate your "satisfaction" with the ruling while not expecting the exact reaction you got means you still need some work in the common sense department. In other words: You shut the f*** up.
  7. I didn't know Ritalin could cure stupid.
  8. Ah, money laundering. The true Dominican pastime.
  9. Because they result in increased velocity. But biomechanically (this is personal research and anecdotal evidence from people who deal with young pitchers, so apply salt liberally) timing issues are a real problem. When the arm is late and the arm pronated, there's almost a 100% chance for future elbow/shoulder injuries. In fact, O' Leary quotes Nolan Ryan in saying thar creating velocity with scapula loading/timing cheats during delivery is a driving factor in the rash of arm iniuries.
  10. http://www.chrisoleary.com/projects/pitchingmechanics101/Analyses/JoseFernandezPitchingMechanics.html This dude is an insufferable prick, but he knows pitching mechanics.
  11. Let Miami keep their ticking time bomb. The guys I would target are Salazar, Quintana or Kluber.
  12. Isn't it essentially the other way around?
  13. But Petitte's doctor is the best in the field.
  14. ERA is only relatively luck-dependent. It's a lot more of a "repeatable skill" than say, the mighty but elusive legendary beast known as "clutch", since a lot of the factors that go into the pitching results that go into ERA are actually controlled by the pitcher.
  15. I don't even Pokemon Go.
  16. I don't get people's need to rush Benintendi to the Majors. Let the kid play and the FO decide when he's ready.
  17. His peripherals are extremely strong. But part of the problem was the lowered velocity in his first few starts, something FIP does not aacount for.

  19. Well, it was worth a try. Back to the drawing board.
  20. Soxncycles: Shut the f*** up. MVP: Go join Soxncycles in the shut the f*** up area of the talksox lounge.
  21. It's a common joke here on Talksox. Chillax.
