  1. His lack of capacity to adjust to adversity is exactly what I'm talking about. Benintendi is not just going to be here for the rest of this year. They have six seasons of controls over him.
  2. I'll watch. I don't give a s***.
  3. Who are these "most scouts" you're talking about? Most guys I've talked to have said that every player is different and promotions need to be handled on a case-to-case basis. Pitch selection and quality in AA is still not the same as MLB. If a guy can't handle certain breaking stuff, it usually doesn't show in AA where it's still a very fastball-heavy league.
  4. But but but moon said he's ready!
  5. ^This is a very good point. Dealing with the Boston fans and media is a beast that needs to be tamed on its own.
  6. It was a far fetched thought. The move reeks of desperation and could backfire horribly like it did with Conforto. Hopefully that doesn't happen.
  7. A big part of it is in Clay's head.
  8. Steven will Wright the ship soon. Worry not.
  9. Price will not f*** this up.
  10. Markus Lynn Betts is the hottest hitter on the planet right now.
  11. Nah, moonslav knows better. Then again, this is and always has been DD's MO.
  12. Why is Schilling a definitive argument towards the existence of clutch? I don't see it.
  13. If the Sox get Sale, Pomeranz is one of the pieces going back to Chicago. You can bet on it.
  14. There's no clutch, there's choke. Choke is quantifiable.
  15. That's another thing Farrell is very good at: Protecting his players, be it from the media, umpires or whatever.
  16. Dombrowski has absolute authority over baseball ops, and it's written into his contract. This is common knowledge. If they're set off limits, he set them off limits.
  17. Because "clutch" should not be an intangible, but rather a measurable performance benchmark.
  18. Also this. I will bet money Sale has TJS before the 2019 season.
  19. Where do you come up with this ********?
  20. ^Right on the money. It boggles the mind how people here will go to war for Buccholz, who has been a disappointment for years, but will s*** all over Price who's been here for half a season. Stockholm syndrome maybe? I was referring to Dojji's post.
  21. For all you talked about tbsb, you sure have a lot of trolley quality yourself. The Sox will move Moncada off the position because they think he's ready to do so, not because of a perceived "need" or a stupid reason like they think he can't hack it at 2b. In fact, they are probably preparing to call him up in September. That's because he's treating AA as his personal playground.
  22. Clement was doing pretty good until the line drive to the head.
  23. The point wasn't whether or not it would happen once they reached AAA, but rather when management thought it plausible instead of because of a perceived "need". Do not move the goalposts.
  24. It seems to be a rite of passing for sp's to suck their first year in Boston.
  25. Oh, so now fangraphs is wrong.
