    I just think that it is at least notable that DD has made 5 major acquisitions of pitchers and none of them has panned out so far. Price was of some value last year but clearly was not the guy we saw in Tampa, Detroit, or Toronto. I hope some or all of these moves turn out to be good ones.

    I have read this now too. The report I saw first was not that specific. It did paint a more dire picture.

    I read that Jason Groome got lit up in his single A debut for 9 runs in 1 1/3 innings and then was removed from the game with an arm injury or something severe. That was a quick career.

    This is a fair evaluation. My concern is that Kimbrel's best days are behind him. He was not always wild as f*** was he? He was a monster in Atlanta if I recall. The guy I watch does not match up with his stat history. And that concerns me, knee operation not withstanding.

    Even with the patch work line-ups the Sox have not been blown out. They have been in all the games, I believe. They are 3-3. As long as they do not fall very far behind in the division while the missing pieces trickle back everything will be fine. As far as losing Sale starts is concerned this is nothing new to baseball. Other teams have big arms too. 156 games to go. It is a marathon.

    I have heard several explanations and definitions but to me it just comes down to placing the ball where you want to. This is not clutch-choke. You can see if a guy has either. Or if he does not.

    I am prepared for the eventuality of former Sox prospects prospering. Not all of them will do so. Some will and I'm cool with that.

    A split would be nice given the circumstances. I usually hate when play by play guys spew data on how a player performs against a certain team because it is a mostly useless stat to me. However, I wonder what Sale's record against the Tigers is for say the past two years? That would be relevant and fun to know.

    As long as I get to cook it or can supervise the cooking of it. I am thinking of a nice cranberry dressing for it. And some Merlot.
