Ted who is that ass-clown black man that played for Cincinnati and was obnoxious as national annalist for so long? I can see his face and hear his voice.
Anyways, as much as I hated that f***, he was seen as gritty.
This talk of grit being a racially charged term is a bunch of happy horseshit.
Hose-A Altuve is gritty. Bert Campinaris was gritty.
Just two of many exceptions to this silly idea.
Give me a break.
Go back to clutch. At least that stupid topic has no political edge to it.
Lol. We as Sox fans have been so concerned about the loss of Ortiz's bat and how our offense would compensate for the loss of his production.
The Jays lost their Papi in EE and Joey Batts has not been himself since 2015.
Still, I see Toronto picking it up and playing much better ball. Much as I see the Sox being better that what we have seen so far.
Not mine presently. I continue to be patient if somewhat skeptical.
Anyone signed to that disproportionate contract starts his career in Boston with a target on his back. That is the way Boston fans and media play things.
Certainly having his two first years being total flops ( for whatever reason ) has not helped his status. Imagine if Porcello had sucked or had not improved last year? How would people have reacted?
Pablow is in control of his own destiny. The quickest way to shut people up is to perform as expected.
He has not done that so far.
I think he may have meant that a small sample size of errors may not be indicative of anything. Still, Pablow needs to do much better in the field without trying to do too much.
I am a little concerned about Hanley and his sore shoulder.
But assuming it is no worse than last year I see no reason why he won't be able to step it up at the plate.
Also, I wonder how severe Bogey's thumb injury is. A chronic problem could really have a bad effect on his batting.
I think Pablow looks more athletic than what I remember of him in SF. A small sample sized subjective assessment to be sure.
I think that he just needs a lot more reps. At least that is my hope.
This season is so far from being over. They have played about 1/8 of their schedule.
The Sox have not been able to consistently field their best team. There is much to like about what we have seen from the pen and the offense is just way too talented to falter forever.
People get way too worked up over a mediocre start. Relax.
Okay. Now I understand what you see. And yes, they did pull Pablow last spring. I just think the stakes are higher now. They need production out of that contract at some point and it's year 3. He has done almost completely nothing so far to earn his money.
Ridiculously bad signing.
I am willing to watch him until June but after that he sits. I'd much rather put my trust in Hernandez or Rutledge. Or even the noodle bat Merrero. At least we know he has an outstanding glove.
Moon if Pablow was not "earning" almost $20. mil/year there is no f***ing way he would start in front of Hernandez or someone else.
He has been lousy in the field and is a near Mendoza hitter.
I would fire a GM for imposing that kind of performance on my team if that is all that he could find to play 3rd base.
