  1. Bingo. I say this as the Son of a research scientist.
  2. This is essentially how I feel. The thing is none of the current outfield is done developing yet.
  3. Ultimately he cheated himself.
  4. I agree with this. I have seen many comments on FB today that express excitement and joy about his death. I was thinking of those comments.
  5. I can't blame Jacko for following The Chart.
  6. The murder scene was around the corner from my house and he lived about three blocks from me. It was surreal. The whole thing is unfortunate. I certainly can't condone his actions but I can not celebrate his death either. That would be just stupid.
  7. Yup. JBJ has mad skills that most do not even notice let alone appreciate.
  8. What a waste of talent and a lives. This guy lived three blocks from me here in North Attleboro.
  9. Does that range include seeing that ball come off the bat well and taking a good path to the ball or are you saying just speed? No way in hell does Marcus have the ability to read balls off the bat as well as Bradley. Not from what I have seen.
  10. That is how I grade them as well.
  11. Yesterday's game was so much fun. Do it again boys!!!! GO SOX!!!1!!
  12. That was the coolest catch by a fan I have seen so far this year. Plus, that ball was smoked.
  13. As the resident Defender Of Jacko I would note that most of those things he has in common with many people on this board. If he was not a Yankee fan few people would care about all those things.
  14. I'll see what I can do.
  15. After I said this last week the guy has gotten it done without much drama. Of course striking out the side to end a close game is dramatic.
  16. He actually did according to the NESN feed. Kimbrel was excellent even without FB command. Good stuff!
  17. Unfortunately the concern you voiced about DD when he was hired have been realized. I think he has spent too much on relievers ( I hate big$ contracts and particularly ones to relievers ) both in contracts and in prospect currency. Yeah, you can't keep them all and yes most of them never amount to much or flame out. Still, he has cast off most of this team's chips for a bunch or arms whose best days may be behind them or are just not worth it. I'm not losing sleep about the 2021 cliff because I believe some useful talent currently in the system will manifest itself and there will be other draftees that bring some value. But if the Sox do not win a WS in the next two or three years it will be seen as a failed effort chasing a tittle with a huge payroll and few native pieces to build further on. Bailey, Hanrahan, Smith, Thornberg.....none of them has ever worked out to date. Spending big money on BP arms is mostly a waste of time and money when decent lower cost arms can be developed and sourced otherwise.
  18. Pullpen really sucked today again, eh guys? Last week I complained about Kimbrel. Today I saw what I was led to believe is THE Kimbrel. I hope he does that far more often.
  19. Not getting the job done is not getting the job done. Premier talent at that position would have made that play and with his athleticism I expect Benni to do so soon. No need to dissect it all with multiple comparisons. He just needs work and experience.
  20. Yup. This situation is not unlike last year when Shaw took the job away from him. At least this year we know we have a guy in Hernandez who can play and hit well enough in MLB. Pablow needs to get going soon or he is tits up this season.
  21. Bennintendi needs more experience in the outfield. He looked bad on that ball near the wall in the 1st. Bradley would have had that one. Alas, he is a young rookie.
  22. Hence Poor Man's.
  23. As probably Pablow's harshest critic on Talksox, I have been almost silent. He is not getting hits and his futility is amplified by a batting style that makes him look like he is uselessly flailing at bad pitches. But that is how he hits! He is like a poor man's Vlad Gurerro. He swings at almost everything. With all that, He looks a lot more athletic running and making plays. I think that his long layoff may be working against him and maybe the baseball Gods are just taking a nap when he comes to the plate. Whatever, It is only smart and fair that he be given an extended look this spring. If he is still hitting below Mendoza or near it when June arrives, start Hernandez. I have spoken much ill about Pablow but it remains clear that a career average Pablow makes the Sox a better team. Plus they need to see if they can extract any value from his silly contract. I don't see the Sox being able to trade him this tear or next regardless of what he does because of the money owed to him.
