  1. In NBA Jam rules, Giancarlo Stanton is heating up....
  2. I had to look it up to make sure, I recognized a few of the songs but I had no idea they were by DEVO.
  3. Can you both put each other on ignore? It makes angels cry when you two argue like that.
  4. It depends on what the score is, but I'd try to use him if it's a low leverage situation. I think he only threw 9 pitches (if they can be called pitches) in the last outing, and with the off day we can give our good pitches some well deserved rest before heading to Toronto, where we might have to fight a little harder to win. That said, up by 4, I'd probably try to get 2 innings out of Mortensen.
  5. I'd loved to have seen Lackey out for another inning, but with a day off tomorrow we can use our bullpen a little more and 81 pitches is definitely safe to keep Lackey from reinjuring himself. Overall a very well done job. Now it's on to our bullpen to keep it.
  6. It looks like our sweep of Houston was just because we're a better team than them all around, whereas the Yankees sweep of Toronto was because they were lucky and came back and won games. They should have lost a few of those games but again, the old timers hit home runs at the right moment. That said, hopefully the same crappy Toronto team awaits us.
  7. Cmon Lackey we just need to get outs.
  8. The AL record is the 2003 Tigers that were 43-119. The overall worst was the 1899 Cleveland Spiders that were 20-134. The 1962 Mets were 40-120.
  9. Now Ellsbury is the only one remaining without a hit.
  10. Too bad Houston goes on to play the Yankees next while we face the Blue Jays.
  11. There we go Drew, almost everyone is in on the hit parade now.
  12. There's a first time for everything, right?
  13. I will say though, I watched yesterday's first half inning on Gameday and Doubront gave up 2 runs, I shut it off and the Sox won 8-4. And I watched the first half inning of today's game where Lackey gave up the run and then shut it off and now it's tied 1-1.
  14. I actually had a similar image and was going to post a picture of something similar but I decided that I liked VA so I was going to be nice haha
  15. Nah, Tim Drew last played in 2004 and retired with a 7.02 ERA.
  16. What's funny is that there was a third Drew brother. And they were all first round draft picks.
  17. Not to mention we'd have Breslow, Morales, and Hanrahan eventually coming back, which I assume would spell the end for Bard (minors), Aceves (going to another team), Miller (just plain released) and Wilson (minors)
  18. Apparently according to Soxprospects, Tazawa, Bard, Aceves, Bailey, and Wilson all have options.
  19. I assumed that Bard was gone in order to make a spot for Lackey. Edit: Nvmd it was Lavarnway, Yahoo hadn't listed him on Boston's depth chart and he was never used so I assumed he didn't get brought up.
  20. Luckily we should have Morales and Breslow coming back which would allow us to get rid of Miller and someone else to have more useful bullpen arms.
  21. I have a feeling this is going to be a bullpen kind of game. Good thing we have tomorrow off. At least if we're behind we won't have to worry about using our good relievers.
  22. I just hope that his resurrection gives him a shot at the hall of fame. He's doing his career numbers a huge favor. I think "diva" describes Youkilis (and maybe Crawford) way better than Ortiz. Then there was "straight up *******" which describes Beckett. (And perhaps Lackey/Aceves)
  23. I might have but I thought Doubront would be out by the 5th and it would be a double digit score.
  24. I guess Bard can take Doubront's spot on the aforementioned trip back to Pawtucket.
  25. I'm glad that Doubront was able to get us 6. Our bullpen can use any extra outs from our starters.
