  1. That defines my career as a Jaguars fan. If any team was able to lose on its bye week...
  2. He's also pretty old too.
  3. Was it ORS that created the chart? The chart is the greatest post of all time on this site imo.
  4. Still though, Julio Lugo should be taken into a dark alley.
  5. I'm not gonna lie to you, I'm pretty bad at this stuff. In my time here I've gotten into nasty fights with the majority of members. I was temp banned once for fighting your greatest ally. When I graduated college and hit the real world I guess I mellowed out. I hated my job so much that I didn't have it in me to hate anyone else here. Now I'm way too lazy to get into a heated argument with anyone here. And I probably communicate with Talksox members more off the site (email/facebook) than I do on the site. And I also joined a forum that is way more violent and petty that makes this one look like Switzerland. It's hard to get angry on here anymore. I consider that a good thing.
  6. I think the playoff debate might be more related to the toughness of the division rather than any particular fault of the current team. The Sox would be slaughtering many of the other divisions at this point, but the Yankees and Orioles seem allergic to losing games, the Rays are a team founded on getting the most out of its players, and the Blue Jays were favored to win it from the beginning of the season.
  7. When I look at the 2012 season, and why it was awful, my first thought isn't "Ben Cherington" I'd blame Julio Lugo before Ben Cherington.
  8. I'd make an exception for players with humorous names, so if someone made a "Doug Fister" reference that might be in style regardless of what team he plays for.
  9. For some reason I thought you'd see more since if it's 3-0 the pitcher would be more likely to throw one right down the middle for a strike. Granted, a batter is probably less likely to swing 3-0, but that doesn't make the pitch any less hittable. I'm probably missing something though, that's interesting that not too many HR's are hit at that count.
  10. That's at least good to hear knowing that Hanrahan is coming back soon and that Breslow is on his way.
  11. Not to mention that the Astro's owner is a total jerk and might be almost as bad as Miami's owner. He basically said that if the fans want a better team that they should write him a check.
  12. At least we have a few games with them out of the way and Reyes should still be out a while so hopefully we can sneak some more games in with them before they become good. They were initially World Series favorites at some point, right?
  13. Damn Rays took the lead. Seriously other AL East teams won't stop winning ffs.
  14. Since YOTN interjected I won't respond to this in the way I would like to, but just know that I firmly disagree with a lot of this.
  15. A700 is right though, it's back and forth like a tennis match.
  16. Ah, I knew that was one that I was thinking of, apparently they did a cover of "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" which was originally by the Rolling Stones. I knew I recognized that song from somewhere.
  17. Damn it Tampa Bay came back to tie their game. Also the Orioles (in addition to the Sox and Yanks) have the ability to have their own 4 game sweep as well.
  18. Yep, sharpening our pitchforks for a revolution up in this sumbitch.
  19. I think with another run to our lead we should be able to get away with Mortensen in another inning for the 8th and Bard for the 9th. That said if Bard is still incapable of getting outs we might need a little more insurance. I know we didn't use Uehara or Bailey yesterday but I really wanted to give them another off day before Toronto.
  20. I understand, but if you BOTH together put each other on ignore, it might be a different story. Ok, on 3. 3.... 2.... 1... IGNORE!!!
  21. Assuming luck/karma doesn't revert around. I mean if you're doing well with mediocre players and great luck, maybe things will switch if you have good players and bad luck. One can hope anyways.
  22. I saw Roger Clemens do that once, but he did that on purpose because when the runner was stealing second, a runner on third was bolting home so Roger Clemens jumped up to intercept the catcher's throw and get the runner going home. It was pretty impressive.
