    Power Rankings: Paws Slugger Wally Woofster Reedy Muggsy Smiley Paws and Slugger are going to clean house. Lots of jobbers once you get past Wally. Woofster has the chance to be something someday though.

    They had a sustainable model through 2015, but really blew started to blow it up at the end of the DD regime. Bad drafting under Cherington plus lots of prospect trades under DD really thinned out the prospect pipeline for a few years. Sox seem to be fixing it? Pitching is still an issue IMO.

    Which of the current Sox players deserves the long term deal the Braves players got? Bello isn't in Strider's league. Casas' bat might be in shouting distance of Olson's, but his defense is not. If he's a DH profile, why would you give him a long term deal? Duran is having a breakout season, but he's doing it at a much older age than the Braves guys were doing it at. Are we comfortable with him performing at the same level going forward? If there's regression on the 403 BABIP, his value goes down a lot. Does he profile as a 4th OFer or platoon guy?

    My concern is this FO iteration hasn't shown the ability to construct a successful starting rotation yet. Fingers crossed for next year! 2021 worked because of the guys that were on the roster that came before (ERod/Eovaldi). The offseason acquisitions (Richards/Perez) both flamed out and were sent to the pen.

    They aren't getting good pitching by trading Walter, Chase Meidroth and Paulino, especially controllable pitching. There aren't a lot of those guys available and the ones that are available are expensive.

    Kiké has a much higher upside than Chang or Reyes. Reyes is a career replacement player. Chang could be marginally better, but his bat is just awful. I understand why he kept trying Kiké there. Cora just never caught lightning in a bottle with him this year.
