Kluber doesn't have durability issues. Kluber has an age issue and is ready for retirement. He's just a horse that needs to be put down. He could throw 180 innings, but would have a 7 ERA. Wacha would pitch better, but couldn't stay healthy.

Embree comes in and gets an out, 0 R. Timlin comes in and gets 4 outs, 0 R. Seems like they should have gone to the pen?
Embree, Lowe, Timlin, Arroyo and Williamson all were pitching great out of the pen that postseason. You're misremembering how good that pen was at the time.
They had a middle of the road budget for a team that was in the middle of the road in the standings before it took a nose dive after the CBO was fired.
I haven't watched the past few games, because why bother? I probably won't watch until the Sunday finale when I go see my Grandfather In Law who I haven't seen in weeks since my family has been fighting off various illnesses and we didn't want to get him sick.
Even if he had to "stay cheap" he should have allocated his resources in a different manner. It was just poor spending to ignore the SP the way he did. Anyway, this is the Prospects thread in the Minors forum...
Bloom's issue was that he gave every MLB player a preset value and wouldn't budget on that value when handing out contracts. That's why we wound up with a lot of mediocre FA guys. The FA market went up and he wasn't willing to pay those prices. He wasn't willing to improve the MLB team at the trade deadline because he was never willing to "lose" on a trade because of his preassigned values he had on players. He was more apt to sit back and stay with what he already had as the market passed him by.
