  1. The CBO/GM will know the first few rounds of guys. The CBO/GM will know the large IFA contracts. Anyone else is a scout pick.
  2. Standing pat at the past two deadlines was the white flag. They should have either bought or sold. If the prices were so high, they should have sold for the future.
  3. No chance to fall that far. Even if they dealt Turner, Paxton and Duvall, they wouldn't have fallen into bottom 6. The 6th worst team is WAS at 49-63, 15 games under. Sox are 3 games OVER right now. I highly doubt they'd win less than 13 games the rest of the way. That's how bad they'd have to do to get down to that winning %. They are going to go worse than 13-38? No chance.
  4. Urias looked ok tho?!?! Thought he made Chang look like Ty Cobb?
  5. Yes, because he was so great at the beginning of last year after not having a Spring Training (596 OPS in APR). Those AB's to get his timing down need to be had at AAA. If he's not ready, he's not ready. It's not about his health, but about him being "baseball ready." A 600 OPS Story isn't winning the Jays series.
  6. Why would the Jays trade Berrios when they are in the WC running? Is that what he's flipping out about?
  7. Sanka maybe?
  8. Would you rather they rushed a trade of a franchise player?
  9. Yes, you are the ONLY one who has said anything like this.
  10. Last place is first place if you get the #1 pick... This team is still 3 games above .500. They would get the 14th pick right now. That makes them boringly average.
  11. They got smoked because of how the team was constructed on April 1, not because of the trade deadline. Trading for a 3rd starter wasn't winning them this series.
  12. He didn't mock high BECAUSE OF THE NAVAL COMMITMENT.
  13. Well, it wasn't on here, so it doesn't count. Unless...
  14. I'd dump Reyes. He'd probably pass through waivers the way Arroyo did.
  15. I think Bloom's lean towards "north star" is kind of genius as he's basically selling himself to JH that he needs a 5-6 year contract to get the team in contention. He's built himself job security by drafting HS players that take a long time to develop and mediocre .500 MLB teams that are just not good enough to be in the playoffs, but show sparks of being good.
  16. The Z stands for Bloom zigging when all the other in contention teams zagged.
  17. ^^^ This one move irreparably damaged this version of the Sox and the fanbase for a loooong time.
  18. It was probably noted during the interview process that he had to trade Mookie.
  19. They didn't draft Bello? Bello was a $28k signing. Just a guy on a list.
  20. Got it. I think some people REALLY want to give certain people credit over others. Like I've said, it's easier to use "DD" and "Bloom" as shorthand for that era of Front Office.
  21. Song fell because of the naval commitment
  22. For Story to get activated, somebody has to be moved off the 40 man roster. Hard to believe they’ll keep all of: Story Valdez Hamilton Reyes Urias Chang
  23. Unlikely
  24. He could be. He was very good in 21-22. Better than Arroyo ever was. He got injured on Opening Day and was limited for a long time. His July numbers in AAA looked good. We’ll see how it works out.
