  1. There were key injuries last year and it was fine until it wasn't (Breggie/Anthony).
  2. In '22 when Trout had 40 HR, Ohtani had 34 (9.6 bWAR with pitching) and Sandoval had an ERA under 3, the rest of the offense was so bad (4 everyday starters under 700) that the Angels were 25th in runs, 24th in defense, 1st in k%. Record was 73-89!
  3. They were 7th in runs last year. Overall, it was fine.
  4. Red Sox vs Northeastern Friday at 1:05pm Tyler Uberstine SP
  5. Even if the players eventually work out in year 3 or 4, the years of control are already halfway over. It just makes no sense. There is every reason in the world to give a player an extra few years of seasoning prior to being promoted (years of control, PPI, better developed tools).
  6. If you have RHB Masa with a better glove, why would you trade him for Masa?
  7. Players don't want a cap, owners don't want a floor.
  8. Yorke - hit over power Mayer - all around player Romero - power over hit (hasn't made it to MLB yet) Angels rushed guys to the bigs and it hasn't always worked out (Schanuel, Paris, Adell).
  9. Neto could command more due to the contract size.
  10. Rafaela had a 899 OPS from 5/28-8/3. There weren't many people on here saying he couldn't hit during that stretch (200 PA's). If he wasn't moved to the IF, maybe he continues to hit well?
  11. Think the Sox had a bad September? They scored 32% more runs than the O's did (29th in Sept in runs scored).
  12. If they believed in Duran long term and the importance of defense at Fenway, they would have tried: Anthony LF Duran CF Rafaela RF I think they believe Abreu has room to grow and Duran is closer to taking steps backwards, which is why they are going year to year with him.
  13. If he has a career ending injury.
  14. If I was an MLBer, I'd just want to play for Sam. Such a great guy! I wouldn't need a no trade clause or anything.
  15. If the world is ending, I'll make sure to do one last post for everyone on here. 🤯💀
  16. Tolle would be in AAA. Moran doesn't have options.
  17. Unsure where Kutter is physically right now. If he's ready to go in the pen, I'm more than fine with it. Tolle still had some work to do so probably starts in AAA then maybe pushes Moran off the 40 man after being called up.
  18. Sox were 8th in runs scored from July 1 on.
  19. The bullpen is led by Wu-Yellend? That guy needs a swirly.
  20. It's 2027 that people are anticipating a work stoppage as that's when the CBA expires. This season is not in jeopardy.
  21. I'm not sure anyone outside of the Padres org and Bogey's family liked Bogey's contract at the time it was signed.
  22. We love nicknames around here, don't we folks!
  23. You believe Casas is coming back too? Ref had a 838 OPS. Do you think Casas could come close to 210 PA and 830ish OPS?
  24. Duran is athletic enough to be a great OFer, but he just makes too many mental errors out there to be elite. If Rafaela wasn't on the squad, we'd be happy enough to throw him in CF, but there's no way I'd put him out there now. Once his speed decreases, he won't be able to make up for his poor routes.
