    Why give him a market price FA year? You only extend him if it's a team friendly deal.

    He earned $45M in '24 and '25 because of his season in '23. Not sure he was going to get anything this year. Maybe he could have received a larger offer if he signed earlier in the offseason that year, but we don't really know for sure. If you looked at his track record, all the teams that didn't want to pay him a large contract were correct.

    If JH can't willingly go over budget for Skubal, he'll never go over budget. I won't want to hear "aggressive" or "uncomfortable" from them again if they try to get Skubal, but can't get it over the finish line.

    131 wRC+ '24 (665 LHP OPS) 111 wRC+ '25 (676 Away OPS, 600 LHP OPS) Maybe other GM's just are worried that he's not a fulltime OFer and is trending in the wrong direction? Maybe they also don't like his personality and the distractions that have come with having him on the team. 🎾
