  1. A cellar dwelling team that had 22 year old Mookie Betts, 22 year old Xander Bogaerts, 25 year old JBJ, 26 year old Rick Porcello and 22 year old Eduardo Rodriguez. He really didn't add that much to the first AL East Division winner. His offseason moves the first year were: Trade for Carson Smith Sign Chris Young Sign David Price I guess signing David Price was worth 15 wins?
  2. That Mayor's Cup is coming in HOT in 2025!
  3. Brock did say that he doesn't spend much time there anymore... 🤔
  4. You have a good shot since you are often in the bag for ownership! 😎
  5. 162 games is for the fans of teams that don't get into the playoffs. Not fair to take 8 games away from them.
  6. In general, it's safe to assume that a moderator is aware of the other sites as well. Also, there were hints of sarcasm with the extraneous usage of exclamations and question marks as well as the ubiquitous sunglasses emoji for whenever I'm doing a goof.
  7. The Bogaerts extension should have been longer. It was just a bad deal IMO. I didn't like the Eovaldi extension as he's shown not to be healthy year in and year out.
  8. You're not one for jokes are you?
  9. I don't think he needed to repeat 2019, he just didn't need to go out and do the 2019 campaign he did. Also, he really put the Sox in a rough spot with the specific extensions that were signed.
  10. Abreu had more DRS than the rest of the qualified RFers MLB even if you exclude the negative value players. He's up against Addell and Soto for the gold glove. It SHOULD be an easy win for him.
  11. Twins Daily? Who reads that place?!?!? 😎
  12. "Let's play three!"
  13. I think he did a great job through 2018 and ignore what didn't work. However, it really came off the rails that offseason for him IMO. Nate extension Wright PED suspension Shugart 2nd time drug suspension Sale extension Xander extension with opt out No other offseason trades or deals of note even though the transaction log is littered with injury notes. Cora rests his rotation in April. INTL signings: Perales, Garcia Bros, Castro (DD doesn't know who these guys are) Draft: Cannon, Lugo, Zeferjahn, Song, Murphy, Walter Acquired Andrew F'n Cashner It was the only year I can remember that he thought to himself "what if I didn't add anything and just ran back an exhausted team by handing out extensions?"
  14. 1 Justin Gonzales - great short season, gave an extra bump just because it was his his debut and he really impressed, most likely going to have a monster season next year 2 Arias - great short season, fell flat in A ball, but can ignore that 3 Cespedes - dinged for the injury
  15. DD had a 90% hit rate? Sale extension was a miss. Eovaldi extension was a miss. Not extending Betts was a miss. Thornburg trade was a miss. Most would say the Price signing was a miss. You have 45 hits to counter these?
  16. If you go by Statcast's Fielding Run Value, Wong was tied for worst in the league at -13 and Jansen was a more mediocre -3. In 2023, Wong showed a bit better due to his arm being healthy and Jansen was slightly better as well. This is probably the duo that shouldn't be what Breslow rolls out in April 1. It would be nice to have a defensive specialist like vintage era Sandy Leon.
  17. Romero was drafted in '22. I don't think there's a reasonable expectation for a HS player to be MLB ready 3 years later. He's not even Rule 5 eligible until after the 2026 season.
  18. Romero has struggled with injuries, but made it to AA this year. Yorke was in AAA and made his MLB debut, they just decided to trade him away. It generally takes a few years for HS guys to make their debut. If they were drafting college SS's you'd see quicker debuts.
  19. They want more games, not less.
  20. Keep convincing yourself that. He still has an ERA in the 4's and a WHIP above 1.3. Kutter: 3.43 k/bb Bello: 2.39 k/bb
  21. Crawford had 56 starts, but 64 Games as he was pushed and pulled to and from the bullpen last season which reduced the amount of innings he pitched.
  22. Kutter is a better starter than Bello. I'd send Bello to the pen if the Sox found enough starters that needed to push one of them out of the rotation.
  23. I agree that Crawford is a starter. I don't think moving him out of the rotation solves anyone's problems. If you have a guy that can throw 180+ innings, you slide him in as the 5th starter at the very least. I think he was a little unlucky with the longball this year and should rebound next season.
