  1. I think any 1 year deal would be fine for Grichuk up to about 8M. I don't think he's going to take less than 6 since he turned a 6M mutual option down this offseason. Expecting a 3M is silly season.
  2. You may be the first mod to get a temp ban with that kind of language.
  3. O'Neill's OPS vs LHP didn't break 800 in '22 or '23. He's not a sure thing.
  4. Age is the main reason he's bounced from team to team to team in the past several years. He can still get batters out... for now.
  5. His Statcast page looks pretty good for '24. He's the only guy that is still available that looks like a definitely upgrade for the pen.
  6. Pivetta could be a great closer IMO. Not sure he wants to go that direction though. His agent really screwed him over IMO.
  7. Jansen would be fine, but I don't think Cora or the team wants him back.
  8. We'll see. Hard to really see how Cora wants these pieces to fit together.
  9. Masataka Revenge Tour '25
  10. The Dodgers spend, have a great scouting department and use metrics too. It doesn't make any sense for the Sox to not try to emulate that success in some fashion.
  11. Dobbins interview on FanGraphs: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/red-sox-prospect-hunter-dobbins-has-added-a-splinker-and-upped-his-velo/
  12. Why didn't Billy Beane fire Art Howe in Moneyball when Art kept playing Carlos Pena instead of Hatteberg into mid May?
  13. I don't think they want him back.
  14. His arm is much better than Duran's, which gives him the flexibility to play RF in Fenway unlike Duran.
  15. I posted recently some excerpts about the scouting issue and their reliance on stats and models. It makes zero sense for a team with huge revenue streams to skimp anywhere that doesn't impact the CBT even if you are relying on it less. Keith Law tends to have an anti-BOS bias per my memory, but I agree with him big time here. At least keep the same scouts and have them confirm your models? I don't get it.
  16. If it wasn't for the annual Nomar bowling event, he would have been a lifer too!
  17. Metrics have Duran as being better in CF than Rafaela last season. Unless he makes a big stride with the bat, Rafaela is a backup to me.
  18. That's up to Cora. Anthony has the speed to play CF and the arm to play a corner, so he'd be a good fit in RF at Fenway IMO.
  19. LF. Rafaela becomes a backup.
  20. The Section 10 guys gave it a 1% chance of happening at this point, I believe. Now some of us can breathe a sigh of relief.
