    Lowe is a deadpull LHB with a big hole in his bat. Not sure he's a great fit. Jeffers is fine, but I'd be worried that you'd be overpaying for his hot start that will eventually cool.

    Bennett, Tolle... Those are the five guys people will ask for. Everyone else in the system isn't enough. The potpourri trades don't get it done.

    Clark and Byrnes are on the same podcast (Deuces Wild). Byrnes never played for the Giants. I'd take their comments with a big grain of salt. If you want to agree with them, it's your prerogative. I just don't think it's the prevailing opinion.

    Sal Stewart is the young LHB that mashes. Steer is the older RHB who pulls the hell out of the ball.

    It's not about "doing better." It's about them not re-signing him when his ARB years are over. They have had zero conversations about extending him so far. Have you wondered why?

    You think they'll extend him? They haven't yet. He's a streaky hitter who has one strong month and then is just fine the rest of the year. Wouldn't be surprised if he's gone at the end of ARB seasons or sooner.

    His injuries had to do with him swinging the bat, not playing the field. That's not going to change even if he's wrapped in bubble wrap and playing DH.

    Petriello today said "the Astros have a trio of interesting right-handed names in Christian Walker, Isaac Paredes and Jeremy Peña, but the buzz around them is far more of a buyer than a seller." Guys he thought could be available: Herrera (STL), Ward (BAL), Jeffers (MIN), Ramons (SFG), Mead (WSH), France (SDP), Thomas (KC), Steer (CIN), Adell (LAA). I don't know if any of those guys knock my socks off. The price would still be high just to obtain them.

    Maybe, but the calls to send him to 1b are way too premature. My guess is he's in the OF when Abreu and Duran are elsewhere. Most evaluators have had him as average to above average. The Red Sox see him as having the ability to be the everyday RFer.

    I agree that there just seems like too many balls in the air this year. Crochet, the IP limits, Anthony, plus future injuries that we aren't projecting right now. Plus, being all in for a below .500 team just because the AL is weak seems kinda ridiculous to me. Instead of overpaying at the deadline, just make a fair trade in the offseason.

    What ex-Giants are you talking about? Will Clark? That guy is a very big blowhard IMO. I think what would best suit this org, and have said so previously, is a GM underneath Breslow that was a highly skilled communicator. That way, you have someone that can get the wants of the FO to meet the needs of the coaching staff and players. Right now, there is just too much friction. Guys like Whitlock are just treating it like a job and basically punching the clock. The lack of soft skills in the org will hurt when you look to attract or retain players in the future.

    Who is coming back and when? We don't have a timetable for Crochet or Anthony. If neither played the rest of the season, I wouldn't be surprised.

    The only time Roman had "crappy" stats was before he reached Greenville. GRE 161 wRC+ POR 182, 141 wRC+ WOO 161, 145 wRC+ Once he got to Greenville and Portland in '23, the hype machine was ready to go because the Red Sox had nothing else going on at the time. That was the year that Mayer was injured in POR and missed most of the second half. It was really all about Roman at the time. The "Big Three" stuff started the following offseason I believe.

    Roman Anthony was hyped back to when he was in A ball. Arias was a mid level prospect until this year. I think people forget about the hype train that Roman had TBH. Maybe fans are hyped about Arias, but I'm not sold that the Sox are as invested in him as they were on Roman, KC and Teel (my original point).
