    Per the article: "It was the signing of Alex Bregman that caused the Devers drama in the first place... While some of those moves were celebrated at the time they happened, others like the Durbin-Kyle Harrison swap (that also netted the Red Sox Andruw Monasterio and Anthony Seigler) were heavily scrutinized." Feel free to go complain to Brian Burrows at BoSoxInjection if you don't like his writing. Sometimes it's good to read things that don't align 100% with your worldview. His conclusion is that it may have been a little early in exercising an extension on Breslow since they already had him under contract for 2 more seasons. Seems fair considering the rocky nature of his time here.

    To me, the offense needs another addition. The offense is 20th in runs. Swapping Duran for Suzuki makes sense to me. I don't necessarily trust Mead with a fulltime role. He hasn't shown it over the course of his career.

    Suzuki could be a good add. The Sox need to figure out what to do with Duran, Story and Masa. They may continue to just try and run out the clock with those contracts. 😶

    It's just not likely that a 25 year old will develop multiple below average secondaries into league average. The sweeper has the best chance of working out, but I'm dubious about his other pitches. If he was just 4 seam, cutter, sweeper with a show me curve (I just like curves), it'd be good enough as a back end guy. I don't think that's really a knock either.

    To me, using Tolle as a replacement for Toll doesn't make sense because it doesn't rhyme. I'd go with: Tolly! Tolli! Tollé! The accent doesn't make sense, but it didn't make sense with that R&B group either because they didn't pronounce it correctly.

    Unfortunately, this would probably make a lot of smaller market teams just keep rotating through the same few taxi squad guys rather than giving a new guy a cup of coffee.

    That's much different than "the playoffs are random" and I agree. The Yanks are slightly better this year.

    I'd trade Duran for a AAA pitcher.

    Duran has really been struggling at the plate. Hope he figures it out soon.

    He's had one half of a good season for his entire career. Not sure what to expect of him going forward.

    I don't think Perales was considered SP depth. He was coming off injury and the Sox were pushing him towards the bullpen due to issues with his options running out. Clearly, not all of those guys will work out as SP's. However, it does greatly impact the SP pipeline and depth that the Sox will need in the next two seasons. They'll need to figure out how to add some guys or they'll see more Paez type starts going forward.

    He's very 4 seamer heavy. Seems bulk relieverish to me. Maybe he could be a back end starter somewhere? The SP guys still like him a lot. IDK.

    I agree. It's how they obtained Bennett. We'll see if their tiny scouting department is up to the task.

    5th rounder 6th rounder 10th rounder HS 8th rounder The ceiling for those arms is typically low. Once in a while you'll get an Early, but it's not likely. More often those guys are turned into relievers or just AAA depth arms. Wonder why Stork didn't list Adetuyi? 🤔

    ChiSox are 3 GB with 5 to play. They could still fall to the 6th seed if they lose out.

    Rafaela had a 91 wRC+ in AUG. Yoshida isn't coming back.

    The pitching depth is a question to me. Others may disagree, but I think the high minors depth won't be there in 2027. They also punted on adding college arms this year while trading away their best prospects. I know they've added Tolle and Bennett to the rotation this season, but that won't always be the case.
