    It's not a problem that he stayed. It just would have provided some financial flexibility if he left and he probably isn't worth the contract going forward. He's fine at SS for now, but I think Bres is just holding his nose for now until he has to make a decision there.

    He's never bounced to begin with IMO. I think Cowser, Henderson and Rutschman are more important to the team.

    The only player that would have been good to opt out is Story. It forces the Sox into a better defensive lineup by moving Mayer to SS. I don't believe anyone thought Bregman was staying for a second season.

    KC is playing CF today. He's not at DH. In general, ST doesn't really matter except for reps. In the regular season, if they are both in the starting lineup, I don't think KC would be at DH and Masa would be in LF. KC is a better OFer and I don't think they'd be DHing him if the injury bug got that far.
