    They have hated Masa since 2024 and have always found a way to bench him. He deserves to be traded so that he can actually just play.

    I think there's a real chance they eat Story's contract this offseason with Arias being so close. God, I hope so anyway. Getting Duran, Story and Masa off this roster would make this team better and it's what I was calling for last offseason. Masa is fine enough if you're going to play him everyday, but they aren't willing to. Therefore, bye bye MCI.

    Once we get into this offseason, it's far easier to make a decision on removing Story from the roster when there is less than one year remaining on the contract. Mayer also isn't the standard of health and hasn't been playing a great SS this year IMO. If Arias continues hitting in AAA, he may get a callup in September. I don't think anything in AAA or MLB is really in his way, just his development timeline.

    If they did this trade, are they just simply DFA'ing Story and Masa? Seems highly unlikely the Sox would go this route.
