  1. Hickey only had 26 innings at C last season. Gasper is more likely a backup C than Hickey at this point and is already on the 40 man.
  2. Wild season already.
  3. Yeah, he probably should have just retired in 79.
  4. It has some good pizza from what I remember.
  5. 1967: 1081 vs RHP, 897 vs LHP Really depended on the year, but he had about a 200ish split that got really ugly at the end ('75, '79 and after). Some years, he was closer to even ('78).
  6. I don't believe there is MLB open practice anymore. I think there is MiLB practice in the mornings. The gates typically open at 9AM. However, they have started the A, AA and AAA games so morning practice could be limited. I would assume the MiLB games start at 1pm, but you should try calling the park directly.
  7. I closed the poll as we haven't had a new vote in a while. If someone wants to vote prior to Opening Day, let me know and I'll reopen.
  8. Kutter and Sandoval are pitching in an MiLB game to Wong today.
  9. MiLB lineup for the away game.
  10. I think most places have the Sox ranked towards the middle of the pack now. For them to bounce back, it'll take a big step forward from the DSL guys (like what we saw from Rafaela and others in the past) and the college draftees to all progress as expected.
  11. Chalamet is suprisingly low on the list!
  12. These guys always move a lot more than we think they will. The midseason standings post-draft will be interesting to gauge how the system is measuring up IMO. If Bleis is having a mediocre season and not falling, it probably means that the overall health of the system isn't great.
  13. No, that'd be if the US won.
  14. Garcia will really need to go back to hitting in order to jump that much. He hasn't been the same since his injury. The DSL guys are always hard to project. I don't know how to get a good read on any of them. If I had to pick a guy to jump out of that group it'd be Rivas. What if Cason really shows he's capable at SS? That would jump his ranking considerably.
  15. I think Castro and Romero stay about the same. There would have to be an influx of new prospects to bump them down. I think their rankings are kind of sticky. I'd be surprised if Bleis or Cespedes dropped below 30 during the season. Bleis will be at AA and they'll give him the benefit of the doubt as being young for the level. Cespedes will probably start in High A and should have better offensive numbers than last year (Salem is a horrible park). There's a case that they shouldn't be top 20 guys, but I don't think they fall into the 30's. Guys I think could fall: Uberstine, Mullins (high BB rate), Johanfran (if his bat doesn't bounce back), Taylor.
  16. I watched a video of Willie Mays playing in an Old Timers Game at age 50 and it made me feel much better about myself (not that I could have done what he was doing TBF).
  17. 1. I agree about rooting for Sox players. 2. I agree about the overall vibe of the US players. To me, it felt like they were being overly serious to hide the fact that they didn't really want to be there (saluting in the OF, bringing in former military guys, not shaking hands) while other teams were just out there having fun. It all felt very forced. Maybe they did care about winning? It didn't seem like it. If they did, they need to find someone else to lead the team instead of DeRosa because that guy is a chump.
  18. Those are the hitters he'll be facing in the beginning of the year anyway.
  19. By rule, they have to give Maduro back now.
