  1. I would probably add Sandoval to that list too. He hasn't pitched in games yet. Seems like a guy to get a short IL stint rather than a 60 day IL like Romy and Casas. They already said that Casas will not get into ANY ST games this year. If that's the case, they probably should leave him in Ft Myers until May to keep him out of the bad weather up North while he rehabs.
  2. If you're wondering about the Italy/Mexico game that determines USA's fate: if Mexico wins while scoring four or fewer runs, Team USA is out. If Mexico wins while scoring five or more runs, Italy is eliminated. If Italy wins, Mexico is out no matter the score.
  3. If they lose, it's because of the very light starting pitching group. Skenes could throw twice, but Skubal only was going to throw once. Everyone else on that stuff is rough.
  4. Gasper has a good shot at a UTIL position in AAA. He's great to have in the org on a taxi squad this season.
  5. If Judge stays healthy, they'll make the playoffs again.
  6. I think the Sox should beat current expectations and I don't think the Yanks will lead the league in runs again. Grisham 129 wRC+ seems unrepeatable Trotting out 38 year old Goldschmidt seems foolhardy Aaron "wrong side of the aging curve" Judge could be due for an injury What I'd worry about is an MVP type season from Jazz.
  7. That 758 OPS in '24 was one of the biggest miracles in modern Red Sox history.
  8. Braden Ward among Sox players over 14 AB's: 448 AVG #1 543 OBP #1 16 SB #1 13 H #1 10 R #1 His OPS is 3rd (1026) behind Gasper and Monasterio. Ward definitely wins the ST "let's talk about this rando guy" award.
  9. One of the positions that is up for grabs is backup C. Thaiss is a good blocker who doesn't chase and will take a walk or two. Not super exciting, but his upwards mobility clause may get him added and Wong optioned.
  10. It was why he was on he Opening Day roster to begin with and why Roman/Mayer were in AAA.
  11. Big physical presence right now. I wouldn't have him as a top 100 guy until he really does more on the field though. I think he COULD be part of the next big 4 and someone the org COULD build around. He just needs to adjust that GB rate and stay athletic enough to keep an OF position.
  12. The extension was 5 games into his career.
  13. I thought it was a racist truck stop?
  14. Oh fffffffffffffffffff. Whoooosh.
  15. Sometimes I wonder why I went into accounting instead of finance.
  16. Not into Leave It To Beaver jokes?
  17. Castro might not have the prospect status he once did, but he continues to climb up the ladder. In ST, he hasn't looked overmatched against legit MLB pitching. I don't know if he'll be an MLB starter, but I think he'll get to MLB with his toolset. Maybe not here. Some team could use him.
  18. I think we're sad about the 100 games before that bleeding into this season.
  19. Wow, no mention of how great Masa (WBC GOAT, how come Sox can't put him in LF) is hitting?!?!?!?
