    He struggled last season with the old swing in AAA. He's struggling this year with the new swing. I'm not completely writing him off, but there will be a timetable for him.

    I think Cheng had the one unique skillset out of the AAA guys. Probably should have stuck.

    With Campbell, they are at least seeing him struggle in AAA for an extended period of time and hearing less than flattering scouting reports. Mayer wasn't a finished product offensively and needed time to adjust. Anthony hit the crap out of the ball last year. Not sure how everyone forgot that so quickly. He'll be fine once he's healthy. Unlike Mayer, he didn't have health concerns in the minors.

    They needed to choose between Romy and Monasterio. If Romy isn't hitting, he needs to get a reset in AAA. Cheng works better for the roster for now.

    He's only 23. He still hasn't even played a full season. Anyone that is completely writing him off is unserious.

    Rays have a very easy AUG schedule (CHW, COL, SEA, ATH, BAL 2, TOR 2, DET, SDP). I feel like they are going to get one more arm at the deadline and keep their pace going. Sox should be able to pass the Yanks, but I don't think they are catching the Rays. They just dug themselves too big of a hole. They certainly have a chance. FanGraphs has them at 5% for the division. I'd say it's closer to 15-20%.

    He'd get claimed by the first team. The other teams wouldn't get the opportunity to make the claim.

    Castillo is terrible away from SEA now. He's a flyball pitcher whose stuff has greatly diminished over the past few years. No thanks,

    AZ has built their org around some BOS guys too: Hazen, Lovullo. He'd probably get the same vibe here.

    The college hitters usually get into games unless there is an injury. The pitchers just do training and nobody gets eyes on them until the spring. Unsure how they'll handle the high school hitters TBH.

    That's my point. Without a little hitting, the team was terrible. They had great pitching and fielding and it didn't matter. It took an average offense for this team to actually start stacking some wins. If they keep hitting, they should be fine. If they regress, the team may go in the wrong direction.

    I think it relies on projection models that I don't think work all that well for every player (see: 2026 Willson Contreras, Wilyer Abreu). It's the best thing fans get to play around with. Trade talk online was much sillier before it existed TBH.

    I'm not claiming it's wrong. I'm just claiming that MLB teams have better proprietary models than it. I don't think that should be a shocking statement. 🤔

    Mead may play 2b for a little while. I'm not sold he's the answer long term. More likely he ends up being a LF/DH guy.

    Bogey's defense has been pretty SUSPECT recently. Not sure I'd want to match him up with Mead. Would be cool to have him at Fenway though.
