  1. I'm doing my part.
  2. iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
  3. Getting rid of Winckowski already? WTF? At least put him in the pen and see if his stuff plays up. He's only 24.
  4. BTV has Adell at 0 trade value, but Downs at 1.1. Adell is younger and can actually hit at AAA. LOL.
  5. May have to throw in Jeter Downs too.
  6. Chaim should start watching Starship Troopers so that he'll know how to kill the injury bug before it gets out of control next year.
  7. I think with the current litigation and a potential sale in the future, it'd be better for that team to NOT sign a large contract like that. Also better for a guy like Judge to NOT sign with a team in turmoil like that.
  8. Because he's on the 40 man roster and cheap. I think the Sox move on from him this offseason.
  9. I know! I know! It's why I'm not a GM. It'd be hard to not just go crazy on a contract for him.
  10. Baltimore is still 24th in attendance even with the good season they are having. I don't know what a contract like that would do to their team long term. Chris Davis was an anchor for them for a decade. They'd probably be too shy to go that route again. Also, that ownership is very cheap and I can't see them wanting to spend the money to move the fences in LF back in for Judge.
  11. I'm not so sure. He has a long history of being a fairly reliable late inning guy a la Mike Timlin. I think it would be foolish to throw out a player everytime there was an injury or a downturn. There are enough commenters now saying "why can't Sox get guys like Daniel Bard" and he was wandering the wilderness for 10 years!
  12. I think an infusion of HEALTHY talent should help a little.
  13. That 27.1 Barrel Rate though... His percentile rankings on Statcast are absurd.
  14. Why couldn't the Sox match a 7/200 offer? Same with the Yankees. They have a history of printing money. It's a matter of wanting to keep the player for the money, not being able to. Maybe the other teams would be dumb to sign them for that much? IDK.
  15. My hunch is that it's going to be Whitlock in the rotation. I don't think Lopez will be here.
  16. If they are even just a middling .500 team going through the motions, he can go away.
  17. Others have mentioned dealing from the farm to get a young arm or two. That's probably the best course of action.
  18. Not ever unless he gets a secondary pitch.
  19. Yes. If the Sox can start churning out young relievers from their farm, it saves a lot of the offseason fretting about which expensive has been they are bringing over.
  20. Maybe? I think they need to just give him one role and leave him there for a season.
  21. All I'm saying is that he's not a DFA candidate. I think there's meat left on the bone. He probably wasn't a viable closer candidate anyway and was really just a setup guy at best.
  22. IMO 2020: He did what he was told to do. 2021: He kept the budget low and was able to add key pieces to get the Sox to the ALCS. 2022: He made some critical errors: JBJ trade, signing several older arms that all surprisingly went on the IL and went over the lux tax when team was flailing.
  23. If they won the WS last season, would you be calling for Bloom to be fired this year?
  24. Even if he was available for Duran, it was a horrible point for the other guy.
  25. From 18-21 (even including his late season skid), he was a guy who generally had a low xBA/xSLG and high K%. His curveball doesn't have quite the bite it used to have, but he's still getting movement on his FB. His velo is down a tick, but that could also just be from missing a lot of time due to injury. I'm looking to him to be more productive next season after a full offseason. I think he'll be a decent 7th/8th inning guy. Since coming back from the IL on 8/4: 18.2 IP 18 K 6 BB 16 H 4 ER 302 BABIP (about career norm) 1.18 WHIP 1.93 ERA 2.48 FIP 4.30 xFIP (since he gave up 0 HR)
