I could see it. Both options have been mentioned. Plus, with Kiermaier going out for his usual 40-50 games at some point, it could give Rafaela a little bit of a taste.

His defensive performance has been all over the place and I can't proclaim him a great defender going forward just because he had a great season last year. I would expect the roller coaster to continue especially as he gets into his 30's.
I'd be a wonderful GM though.
I'd just rather sit at home every night and hang out on my couch with my wife than be forced to hang out with dracula John Henry and that muppet Tom Werner (what did he know and when did he know it?). Yuck!
I think Fulmer would be a good addition. I'd let Conforto try to earn a big payday. Maybe the Sox can get lightning in a bottle and deal him at the deadline if they are out of it.
And I don't think PIT would do Casas for Reynolds. I think Reynolds is just overvalued right now. Maybe they are more likely to do an in-season trade if he starts hitting like 2021 again? My point was just that trading a 3fWAR guy who makes a decent salary already for players that can provide equal or greater value most likely isn't a wise decision. Unless he can be that 6fWAR guy for 3 years, you don't do the deal.
If we're supposedly cheering on Bloom for building a farm, I don't want him tearing it down on bad trades before he's fired in 10 months.
I think 27x6 is a fair deal, Sox should stretch to 27x7 to match, but 27x8 they should pass on. I'm trying not to get too worked up until a final number comes out.
Some of these deals are more reasonable to me. I don't think Conforto is "the bridge to Rafaela" that would be Kiké. I could see them giving Conforto a multi-year deal. Fulmer at 5M seems like a steal considering some of the relief contracts being handed out so far.
To me, I'll give him the rest of the offseason to figure it out. If the Sox struggle this year, he needs to go no matter what. Even if the Sox farm system is #1 (it isn't), the MLB team needs to be relatively competitive.
If Bryan Reynolds has an AAV of $8M over the next 3 years (ARB projection for 24 and 25?) and is a 3 fWAR guy and Triston is paid the MLB minimum, if Triston averages anything better than 2 fWAR, it's an overpay by the Sox. If you're trading Reynolds, you better hope he's the 6 fWAR guy, not the 3 fWAR guy based on the price point.
To me, the only "untouchable" guys would be Bleis, Mayer, Casas and Bello. I would deal Rafaela and Romero in the right trade. The untouchable guys would have to bring back the controllable ace.
The problem with Swanson is that he's a SS only profile. His arm is so bad that you can't really transition him to 3b or an OF position. Story is already at 2b, so nobody is going there. I wouldn't sign Swanson. To me, it's Correa, Turner, Bogey or bust. The bust would be sign Andrus to a short term contract and wait for a younger guy to take over the position.
