  1. They wanted him and got him to sign before the meetings. He has the potential to be the best pitcher in the game for the next 3 years at least.
  2. Hell no on that first trade.
  3. Reynolds was a 3 fWAR guy after the changes to the ball last year. I’m not sure he’s worth what the asking price is, honestly.
  4. I wouldn’t unless a young controllable ace is coming back.
  5. Sox haven’t shown that the will extend anyone lately.
  6. I don’t like giving up the prospects I’d have to give up for him.
  7. Because he was injured. If he stays healthy, he’ll be good.
  8. And I pass on Reynolds.
  9. Why not 2 years and ignore the fake short season?
  10. No it didn’t. Sox were worse than the M’s in 2020. It made the Sox look worse.
  11. 7.1 fWAR in those 150 innings. 7.1 x 8M = 57M in value in 150 innings. A little better value than the Martin signing IMO.
  12. Depends on what Pirates want. Him requesting a trade maybe brings the value down a bit? IDK.
  13. Franklin Morales, who we traded back to the Rockies like a year later.
  14. Chris Major Move Martin? Or is someone else coming? He was good last year, but it seems like an awful lot of money for a late blooming reliever who will be 37 this year. He also won’t be the closer, right?
  15. I think he's trying to get up to Ben Cherington levels right now. Around these parts, he was called Ben the Boob and coffee boy. The Boobs looked great in 2013, but were jacked up the other years. Maybe it was beer goggles? IDK.
  16. 1. Betts 2. Trout 3. Judge soon to be 5. Lindor 7. Turner soon to be? 10. Machado 24. Harper 37. Seager 99. Stanton
  17. Nope. The metrics were fine. The metrics just showed that he had extra value when shifted, but less value when not in the shift.
  18. All the good prospects have graduated or were traded. It was a top heavy farm. 24. Seattle Mariners 2022 preseason rank: 2 2021 midseason rank: 2 2021 preseason rank: 3 2020 midseason rank: 4 Top 100 Prospects: Harry Ford, C (No. 68) The Mariners began the year with six players in the Top 100. Three, most notably top prospect Julio Rodríguez, graduated from prospect status. Two more Top 100 guys (one who was on the preseason list, one who wasn’t) were sent to the Reds in the Luis Castillo deal. The depth of the system was aided by the addition of six members of their 2022 Draft class, but winning/competing does have its cost in terms of maintaining a system that had been a mainstay in the top five.
  19. Without any action, there's just nothing else to talk about except "Sox lose #1 interest Abreu and Eflin stiffs Sox."
  20. The one who got away...
  21. As long as they continue to spend elsewhere and do still bring back Xander, it's not a problem.
  22. Only when shifted.
  23. Time is ticking....
  24. Wins last 4 seasons: SEA 275 BOS 278
  25. I love arbitrary ending points. Now do the last 4 years! Just add one extra year and tell me what it looks like!
