  1. Houck is a closer?
  2. His spray chart overlaps with Arroyo's for better or worse.
  3. I don't see them going for Correa or Turner. For the Sox, it's either Bogey or Swanson or discount bin.
  4. At this point, no reason to run him out there.
  5. Forgot about his. Hope they can just extend him before it gets to that.
  6. At one point, it looked like the Sox would give a QO to at least one pitcher and to JD. Now, it looks like they may hand out none. If they give out a QO to Nate or Wacha and the player takes it, there will be blowback. If they don't give out any QO's, there will be blowback. Personally, I don't think any of those 3 are worth $20M per or whatever the QO is.
  7. I think people are getting overly excited about is last 3 starts in Greenville which are skewing their expectations of where he is as a player. He's Rule V draft eligible this year, so maybe they are looking into trading him? Maybe part of the reason they are sending him to the AFL is to make the determination to add to 40 man, trade or just sneak through the draft process? It's probably a fair trade, but I'd rather move a guy like Wikelman for someone who has actually closed out some MLB games.
  8. It's not the same profile. Casas is a big boy with lots of power. The knack on him coming up was that he wasn't showing enough power and that he was too patient. That was definitely not Dalbec's issue. Dalbec was never a top 50 prospect. Chavis was never a top 50 prospect. Casas is legit.
  9. I'd let those 3 guys go without worrying too much.
  10. If I'm going with a QO, I'd give one to Nate before I'd give one to Wacha. Neither is a sure bet, but Nasty Nate has better stuff. It's probably personal preference. 2022 Wacha 4.02 xFIP Nate 3.38 xFIP
  11. I'd move Duran in a heartbeat for an MLB regular.
  12. Overall, he has a 131 wRC+ and a 803 OPS. Last 50 Plate Appearances (Since 9/13): 243 AVG 440 OBP 568 SLG 1008 OPS 183 wRC+ 4 HR 8 R 8 RBI 26 BB% 18 K% 208 BABIP wOBA - no Shift: 392 wOBA - Shift: 306
  13. I think they are higher on Perales and lower on Jordan.
  14. Why not Mayer? I'm sure they could get a good pitcher for him.
  15. No, they lauded Theo after the AGon trade and CC signing. It didn't take long for the knives to come out though. Media never has to look inward you know...
  16. 2013 was a "monster" offseason for Cherington with the pickups that were made, but I don't think many people saw it that way initially. Under the radar players can make all the difference. In order of signing date: Stephen Drew Brock Holt trade Ryan Dempster Koji Uehara Shane Victorino Jonny Gomes Mike Napoli Mike Carp trade Those pieces don't jump out at you, but as part of a larger picture they help create a solid foundation of a team that just played their guts out.
  17. Winning the off-season also doesn't typically lead to winning a WS title for the RS. 2011? TOR has won the off-season title a few times recently and they haven't won a real ring since cars came with manual options.
  18. He's been fantastic at 2b. Let's just leave him there.
  19. Downs isn't living up to AAA standards either.
  20. Of course Dombrowski is the big outlier here. He couldn't ever build a pen either.
  21. I don't think you'll find many people than would disagree with you.
  22. They can DFA Franchy in the offseason. Teams keep passing on him over and over again. I'm fine with him playing in WOO. Dalbec has options and more value.
  23. The problem is that trading him now would be at his lowest value. May as well hold onto him now.
