  1. Well Mr Crunchy- I guess manny just refuted the "manny never wanted to be traded" defense once and for all.
  2. Thats not bad- he made an awful call, and then got lucky and came out unscathed. Nothing bad there...
  3. Yeah because that wouldn't devalue his goal for 20 at all...
  4. I'm just joking buddy. The NYG was a purposeful typo as well.
  5. The bigger story is why this isn't in the Red Sox section, since his absence is meaningless to the NYG and only matters to our team's chances for the East.
  6. If I am Boras I shop Manny for 1 year at 30 in a win win- He'll play hard and the team will get production that likely warrants the pay (especially if its in the NL), and he'll be a year removed from the "he turns it on when he has to" dilemma.
  7. Didnt we rock the three man in the first round last year as well (not that it mattered...)
  8. Ray Liotta plays for the white sox? Thats kinda ironic given the whole "Field of Dreams" thing...
  9. which is retarded...
  10. It wasn't just who they added, (and Longoria and Garza are HUGE additions), its the progression of the young guys - Shields, Upton, etc. I guess the word improbable could work...I just think of "the impossible dream" every time I hear that. We saw the writing on the wall for them getting good- it just happened a little quicker than we thought it would.
  11. I dopn't think Tampa's run is improbable at all- I think that they've built themselves to be solid for a few years, but that is neither here nor there. I'm going to say Pittsburgh in a couple years, once Alvarez kicks up and they have a couple more pieces collected.
  12. I dont think we or they will make it that far, but yeah Joe Buck And Tim DiCarver would have a bonerfest if that happened.
  13. Yo seano- Unfortunately I can't make it. I sold my sox tix for sunday too. Hard times up here. I got the shaft on my education reimbursement so now I'm forking over MAJOR dollars on it. They tax everything over 5,250 as income so now my 7,300 check comes back to me as 4,300. I needed the cash on the sox tix. I'm not happy about it... I was really looking forward to making it down too. I didnt get to a single game all season.
  14. You really should meet Mr. Crunchy, and learn how he makes his living. Something tells me you might pull a Kerry real quick.
  15. It was a decent game too- 3-2 with that catch right in front of us to save a dinger. I wish we had sat in the seats up top instead of the bleachers.
  16. the weather was actually perfect- crisp cool fall night. My buddy and I decided to attribute it to two things- 1) Yankee fans don't remember what its like to not make the playoffs so they forgot you can still cheer like crazy 2) There were lots of fans similar to us who were making the journey regardless of their affiliation We were actually having a misreable time until we decided to make friends with the yankee fans in front of us and behind us- the ones in front of us said they had never seen it that quiet either. The ones behind us were at their first baseball game and didnt really know the "rules". Either way, the cop sucked, and the bar across the street definitely sucked
  17. How so? I traveled 7 hours to take in a stadium that is filled with tons of history, and was sadly disappointed by the crowd, the people, and the surroundings. How is that pathetic? The only time anyone even moved their hands for applause was when Brett Gardner robbed a home run from over the wall.
  18. Oh, And I was sitting next to a Red Sox fan from North Carolina who made the drive to do the same thing as me....
  19. My first and last experience at yankee stadium was last friday night. The crowd was dead quiet. On our way out in the 7th a cop hit a bum and knocked him out cold right in front of the belacher exit, my friend and I were the only two who saw it- the bum didnt move for 10 minutes and was carted off in an ambulance. We proceeded to that bar across the street only to see every greased up NY slimeball trying to pick a fight with eachother while attractive but overly made up girls followed the dancing douchebags around and our overtanned, coked out bartender danced way too energetically to whatever faggityass song they were playing at the moment. Could someone remind me why did I needed to see yankee stadium before it closed?
  20. ...in april...in the rain.
  21. John Lackey in 4 starts and 22 postseason innings since 2005 has posted a 4.84 ERA with an 0-2 record. I'm pretty sure that saying "Advantage Beckett" on this one is a fair statement.
  22. I think Buffalo might take the division. the Jets are pretty bad- the pats and bills will slug it out, but as a 2-1 dog the bills are a decent bet to take the East. Might be worth a couple bucks.
  23. They were running shoes, and he took my favorite shirt too...
  24. Interesting euro references. You into the sauce already?
  25. you played the under last night? Why? Re: kazmir- I don't think he was disinterested- I think he was frozen out of the strikezone. The ump was calling strikes that he called balls earlier in the game- those first 3 ABs it looked like there was a 3 inch by 3 inch strikezone- that'll rattle lots of pitchers.
