  1. Did you get to watch any of it Sean? I was not impressed. Actually, about the only thing I was impressed with on the offensive side of the ball was the kid's arm. He had no protection. His TE dropped 2 first downs on 3rd through the middle too. Ugly.
  2. Georgia's qb, Stafford, is actually very good- problem is his o-line is poor and his receivers aren't great
  3. Thank you, Buster.
  4. When asked how he would run the club, Sveum replied "we are going to run more. Inside the park homeruns, first to homes, shallow sacrifices, stealing home, you name it, we'll do it. I don't care if Prince has to take two bases on a tag up. We are gonna be a greasy fast Italian tank."
  5. Dale 'The Windmill' Sveum? Dale 'Green Light' Sveum? Lets hope for Milwaukee's sake that his managing skills are better than his skills as a third base coach.
  6. I don't believe Auburn is in the top 10 after the pathetic display tommy's team put on saturday. Georgia looked very beatable on Saturday as well. Their injuries may have crippled their chances of a title- I don't see them getting through the season without 2 losses...
  7. Their linebackers are very, very good and McKnight makes them very dangerous, as once he's put some positive yardage up those receivers get a little space and Sanchez can just huck it up there. I was never really concerned about laying the 11, I put it in as soon as I heard Wells wasn't playing. Laurinaitis is going to be a very good pro player.
  8. So many correct answers here Sean-o They're opposed to both Both don't exist Both are 60 years behind That game was a turd to watch, thank god that USC- Ohio state started shortly after and I could watch a 5 seed spotted 11 point get their asses kicked. I saw the writing on the wall for that one, as I think I read you played it too. USC is too fast, too talented, and the big 10 is the most overrated conference in football. I'm looking forward to seeing Florida a little later in the season- I like watching them play and despite their schedule they might have a chance of being in a chair when there are two left and the music stops.
  9. If that announcer called him Sly Croom one more time I was gonna throw my TV. Auburn and Mississippi St. An offensive battle for the ages. What do Civil Rights and football offenses have in common in the south?
  10. In October I put this guy in the lineup all day in favor of Ellsbury and let Ellsbury run the bases late when you need it, or in a pivotal situation. I believe truly great pinch runners are underrated in the playoffs, specifically by us AL watchers who don't have to be subject to small ball all the time. Not to mention Ellsbury is hitting for s*** with no pop and no walks, so it really doesn't make sense except for his defense.
  11. I'm gonna go 9-7 or 10-6. As far as the hit Kilo, watch how much Brady "stepped into it"- its a matter of inches. Pollard definitely reached out for the leg and grabbed it. I'm not saying its dirty, and I'm not saying its not, but the replay you provided definitely shows Pollard coming down and going out for whatever he can grab. Personally, it doesn't matter to me or not if it was dirty- he's hurt, it sucks, now we see how good he really is, and how good everyone else really is.
  12. Yes, the Jets should definitely be considered a better pick than the Pats to win the AFC East after their convincing 20-14 victory over the stalwart Miami Dolphins. Its early Gom. Let this play out. This will make the season very interesting to watch as a Pats fan. Every game is no longer a disappointment if lost. We are no longer the mighty tyrant. I like the little guy role.
  13. Sean- I'm not sure if that applies to injuries as well. I'm sure somebody here knows though.
  14. 2 years 7 per is my guess, 14, maybe 15 total.
  15. I also think two will bolt, with one of them being Liriano. From the organization's standpoint he's suceptable to injury and not as solid an investment as an all star position player. From a player standpoint he's been treated like s*** by the organization.
  16. for that 138 Million you can resign Beckett Long Term, Resign Youk long term, have a quality reliever in Masterson, have a quality infielder in Lowrie, and have a pitcher with MLB caliber stuff whose lost his location as a work in progress in the minors. I'm not exactly sure how trading for Johan Santana is a no brainer. From a long term organizational standpoint the opposite seems like the no brainer.
  17. One of these pitchers.... and Jed Lowrie. and Masterson. And 138 million dollars. Tiny little facts being left out there.
  18. Was Arroyo married? He definitely had the college girl in the lap, as there were multiple pics, but i thought he was a single man.
  19. Wow thats pretty awful. Give him a man hug for me. I agree about this board- its a great board (an props to yessir- good guy from all experiences), but nothing will compare to the old BH. Jesus I sound like I am talking about Brett Favre. I f***ing hate Brett Favre.
  20. I used to make it a mission of mine to get either you or Chris to PM me about spraying your keyboard with soda due to laughter at the expense of hawkstang. I really wish they had kept all those posts. There were more than a couple priceless ones. No offense to this board here, but there will never be another like the BH board.
  21. 2025 words. Christ.
  22. Ahhhh, reviving mjriv's ridiculous posts. A tradition unlike any other. Kilo, you should have seen the B.S. from him you could bring back a few years ago, before MJ "matured". On that same Boston Herald board (RIP) there was a guy with the handle hawkstang, a self proclaimed sox fan who decided in the mid 90's that he "really liked the way the yankees played the game" so he became a yankee fan. Oh how I miss him. Jokes were so easy to come by back then.
  23. Ok, let me rephrase Has Curt Schilling ever said he's tired of the red sox? Has he ever said he wants to be traded? Ever said "The Red Sox don't deserve a player like me" Has he ever sat in the dugout of a team who paid him 160 million dollars while fans adored him, mocking everything he has created, holding a sign that says "I'm going to green bay for brett favre"? Has Curt Schilling ever forgotten which side of his body he hurt and accidentally pointed to the other side, before the doctors said "you're fine" ? Have the Red Sox ever had to say to Curt Schilling "If you don't play tomorrow, you're suspended" ??? As I stated earlier, different things piss different people off. I dont care if someone is a blowhard if they play their ass off ALL THE TIME, and risk their career for the good of a team. I DO care, when people don't hustle, and flat out just don't try as hard as they could, and then blame everyone else for it as their reason. In his very first game as a Red Sox, Jason Bay made a play that saved a run that Manny wouldn't have made. Was it because Manny couldn't make that play, or because Manny just wouldn't make that play? Isn't it kinda sad that I even have to ask that question?
  24. I've never seen Schilling mail it in, BigPapiEnFuego. Have you?
  25. I was a big defender of Mark Bellhorn The Schilling thing doesn't bother me either. Different things upset different people.
